soappie have I missed something? Are DS and DiL moving out?

Yes and no Rach - it's been something that's been simmering for a few days. DiL took it into her head that they should buy a place. She viewed one (without telling anyone!) and then came home and said "we need to buy this". DS and I went to view it yesterday and it's ideal for 1 person but not for 2 - their current double bed would not have fit into the bedroom!

So, in Henry Kissinger mode, I stopped DS texting her immediately after the viewing to say, simply 'no'. Then sat down with him before she came home and found better alternatives. As predicted, WW3 erupted when she came home last night and found DS said 'no' to the one she had viewed. Cue Henry Kissinger act again to stave off the tantrums and tears. I let them argue a bit and then gently stepped in and showed alternatives.

They are now, together, agreed that they would like to move out and buy their own place. But that the one DiL saw at the weekend would not be appropriate as it's not big enough.

So that in itself is a result! They have many hurdles to go through -they need a mortgage offer they can afford etc. But at least they are both now singing from the same hymn book, if not the same page...

thereby hangs MANY a tale...funny how quickly they get used to 'living the single life' again...

Took mine less than 24 hours.. he's not been in a night since he left and took DS2's DLA out of the bank account after spending £1000 on new clothes and nights out.. then moaned when I told him I expect the money back tomorrow!

Ds1 has just put Britains Got Talent on so i've decided i'll do a HHI while i watch it.

D'oh. Knew there was something i was meant to be doing tonight. The girl in 2 grand is a pupil at my school .I taught her last year and know the family well as her bro was in my form. Dammit. Will have to catch on iplayer now but too late for any voting. My memory is poor.

Flying wise, not an awful lot. I have caught up quite a bit on the washing this week. We had a blackout blind delivered so that will need to go up over the weekend.

DH broke the telly while he was fiddling with it last week so he dropped it off at a shop to get it repaired today. Hopefully not too expensive and off our mega list.

All the small things really. I like the dot to dotting slogan. I think that is what i do too. Impossible to do much else other than crisis management with 2 smallies. I seem to have spent most of today stopping Sam from destroying things. I stop and pick up what he has knocked off, and then he is on to the next thing. He's climbing up everything. I am telling myself it will be easier when he can walk, but then i think my fun will really start.

Off to bed now as DJ is doing a long shift tomorrow, and although the boys are at nursery i have tons to do. Hope i can squeeze it all in.
