I recently applied for a JD Williams account and was declined due to credit scoring...having obtained my credit file from experian there is no adverse history just lack of history as I have never had any credit...I was not on the electoral roll either but this has now been updated with both equifax & experian.
How long should I wait to re-apply to JD Williams as I am sure that if they had verified me via E ROLL, I would have been accepted?
Are there any other organisations worth applying too?
If you're now on the electoral register then apply to one of the other JD Williams branded books like fashion World..... you can log-in to any from one account number. May also be an idea to apply for Vanquis - they should accept you if you have no credit, as such.....
Do you have a full bank account and chq card? If so, i'd look at getting a CC from your bank before a catalogue..... helps your credit file, even if you don't use the card much.2010 - year of the troll

Ahhh, yes that will be why then! Is there anyway I can cancel the directory without them revoking my credit limit, do you know?0 -

I don't have a Next account but would have thought part of the agreement would be receipt of a book every quarter? Dunno, maybe log-in and see under subscriptions or maybe account details - i'm unsure tbh....2010 - year of the troll

Thanks Cif. That's fair enough as I got free delivery on my first order. I'll cancel any future books as no point paying for something that's online0 -
Hi,
Hubby's balance with Next has reduced to £0.00. After reading this thread I thought it was a technical glitch, so placed our order anyway. The screen said that the order had gone through fine and confirmation email was sent.
He left for work about 5 mins ago, and Next have just called to speak to him, and because they couldn't they are sending a letter in the post!!
Do you think they have withdrawn his credit account??
He didn't go over his limit and we have paid on time!!
Any ideas ?
By the way, the new directory was delivered today.0 -
littlewoods account screens down atm
