  • just proved something that i had noticed before on sdg accounts.
previousley i had noticed they had upped credit limits after ordering goods.
my empire/kays and great universal have good limits and have lots spent and paid on them.currently they have balances from £25.00 to £105.i have been paying double the minimum.
havent had credit increases on them in a while .ordered £20 ish on each today.
three hours later when checking balances, two £500 and one £550 increases.
i think its definate with them that you get increases, but if the purchasing is dormant you dont get them.ie they are triggered or made active by an order.
being a saturday i think it more likley that they were computer generated today and previousley approved.this has happened before.also the amount you pay off or purchase doesnt seem to matter.
i payed 400 and 350 off two of them before taking the balances to zero.no increases.
the second i ordered on them they were increased.

With my order from Next, it is scheduled to be delivered Monday after 1pm. Will they hold this until I have signed and sent back a credit agreement? Or will they send it anyway and then send the agreement?
Also, do catalogues work the same as credit cards in that you wait until you get your statement and can then choose to pay minimum, full etc?

Never had a catalogue account before so sorry if these are silly questions :o

More than likely they will just send the order out.

They are similar to credit cards in that you wait til your statement is sent out and then pay min/part/full by the payment due date on the statement.

You should get it when they stated they will deliver it, they send out the credit agreement separately usually within the first month.

The miniumum payment with Next is rather odd, it is higher than a credit card (the minimum is £10) and I have never been able to work out exactly how they calculate it.

Thanks Cif :) May I ask how long you've been with Next for and how are they on limit increases? Also do you know if they are open weekends as I am worried I'll have my account taken away on Monday and they realise they've made a mistake :rotfl:

just done it with all mine and o/h's accounts.all increased.400 average.
one sting in the tail and interesting fact.
two of mine are direct debit in order to lower apr.i have changed banks and dd's three weeks ago.got sdg confimation of change letters.
my littlewoods direct is my oldest account and dd due today.log on and had late payment marker and fine.i was horrified.the letter they sent said it will come out of account in time.
phoned up and was polite, even said i will pay fine.mentioned dd.told him its 30 th today and i will pay now(i realise its due on the 30th so paying now is still late,2 days to clear etc.)
he soke to accounts removed fine and warned me to be carefull,mm ok.
no increase on that account but what is interesting is that it didnt affect other increases.
