  • i've got a bit of a wine habit :o me and DH usually share a bottle fri/sat night (and sometimes sun night if feeling really naughty - damn you, asda 3 bottles for a tenner!)

i know all about it though, if i have more than my share of the bottle - sleep badly and hotly (if that's a word - i get all sweaty:o:o) and have a dreadful head in the morning. but i, too, was quite the party girl at uni and beyond until we had DS1...

i certainly prefer a cup of tea to other things that grown ups do, though! :D:o:o:o

    Best of wishes and luck.

    Hi verbatim and doodledoo:wave:

My OD is due on 13th April so less than seven weeks until I am a grandmother if he/she arrives on time :T

She is still being sick but otherwise is OK I am not sure that she still fully realises what it will mean despite being used to lot of babies around.

The villa :oI have still not put it on the market I think part of me still wants to keep it. It has got lots of bookings though at the moment but I have not taken any boongs after July the decision will have to be made by Easter once and for all :(

We had a meeting with our shop manager last week and are reassured that our income will not have to be further cut which is a big relief at least for the next 12 months and we will have a reassessment again April 2011 so at least that gives me some confidence that I can plan my budget safely until then. Debtwise just ticking along did have a letter from OHs MBNA to say that the interest rate is going up to 24.9% usual crap about why but he is on a 0% until September so I shall make sure it is paid or transferred before then

Been a very busy couple of weeks but slowlycatching up in what needs doing and on here.

    Have a great day everyone

Woo hoo to being a grandma!

DT, do you remember what Martin says about the interest rate rise on a credit card? You can ask for the card to be frozen - it means you can't use it any more for purchases, but they can't change your interest rate either. I don't know if that applies to 0% introductory rate offers, but it might be worth investigating

It doesn't apply to 0% intereset so the 24.9% will kick in.It will mean if you freeze itat 24.9% they won't put it up then. They seem to do it to everybody the month before it runs out.

Well if you can earn a lot through the summer with villa bookings it makes sense to at least postpone selling until after the summer. We have a UK holiday home which we rent out and although it doesn't make much profit it doesn't cost us anything. I used to keep it for us for half terms but since my dd has got older I make a point of taking bookings for all school holidays and we use it at off peak times. It would be awful to sell your villa and then regret it!

Any progress with your od's boyfriend 's job hunting?

To pay off debt! I think one of the issues was the amount being spent on the villa. It's a tough decision to make though x

Ah.... nods wisely.... thing is, if its paying for itself.... its maybe not wise to sell it to pay stuff off now. Unless other income has been permanently cut..... I have no choice but to hold on to my little French apartment, otherwise I have to repay the VAT on the purchase price (leaseback via a French government scheme, blah blah) and even tho its also making a loss in the present day, it will do very nicely for my retirement. I hope  But you have alot of obligations in the present day,DT, more than me, because of your family. Its difficult all round. What does the bit of you that wants to keep it say?
