I'd also keep it myself if I could pay the debts by other means.Over time the property will go up in value and also provides some income and is an holiday base.0

Hi diary watchers
Thanks for the posts I have been absent due to an incredibly busy time but I really appreciate your input.
I am not worried about the MBNA interest rate rise KC I would only use the card for 0% deals anyway the last time they offered a new deal just before the old one ended and with the old credit card bank shuffle I used their money to pay off their balance which felt nice but I am confident I can transfer any balance left in Sept as by then we will have paid about £12K off the present CC total and I will have flexiblity with empty cards, closing cards applying for new ones etc. so CC card debt is under control - that's a nice thought.
The thoughts about the villa are - we are not making a profit at the moment - we have spent lot of money on it recently so it is in tip top condition for selling- we are not getting out there much - if we sold it - we would put substantial inroads into our debt and mortgage possibly clearing it all - we could do some work on our house which we would like to do - which are all good reasons for selling - but the inner bit of me wants to keep it - because if we keep going as we are for long enough we can do the above anyway but still have the villa at the end of the day really need that confused smiley
In other news due to be a grandma six weeks today OD at the midwifes today still being sick but otherwise Ok. Started crocheting shawl at the weekend think I should have started with six months to go not six weeksbut that is typical of me I should be alright as long as she is not early:eek:and as long as the baby stops undoing what I have done!
On my baby front the potential adopter turned her down yesterday how dare she although I did not want her to go there I was still upset this is the second time now it appears they are worried about possible Foetal Alcohol syndrome because of her small size - don't they know there are no certainties in life. Explored the possibilities of us keeping her but unlikely to be agreed due to our age and proximity to the parents- so likely have her for several months more with attachment growing on both sides not good -trauma ahead for all concerned:(

Hi DT..it's a hard one on the Villa but you'll do what you are comfortable with.WOW,only 6 weeks to becoming a Grandma..how exciting.
What a shame about the potential adopters..at least she is still with someone that loves her and that's more important.0 -
So many adopters that I have met have this idealistic view that the kids they will be offered will be a perfectfit for their family but this is simply not the case. I think this is partly why the rate for failure in adoption is so high. I get really mad about things like this! My boys are unadoptable simply because there's three of them, they're 8-12 and there's somelearning difficulties but honestly they are the best thing to ever happen to me and Mrs Ging.
Keep going DT, you're doing a great job and knowing the LA they won't find suitable adopters until the baby's 18 anyway :rotfl:.

Hi DT! Good to hear from you, and that the CCs are jogging along being cleared - just checked your sig, and oh my word you've really gone for it, thats great.
The villa - ooh, I know what you mean, keep it and do the other stuff gradually ... but OTOH, how do we know what happens in the future? Its very difficult.
I really feel for you about the little one being turned down, and wanting her to get to her permanent home - but you have a little one of your own dd's about to be born.. wow ... lovely, I hope everything goes really well.

Oh my heart goes out to you and the little one. That's a big emotional situation.
I can't believe how fast your daughter's pregnancy has gone! Mind you, my little chunky chops is 3 months already. I am very concious of the clock ticking for the return to work..boo! Once again finances dictate
How are you now? I'm guessing you're not posting 'cause your busy. I hope it's not for any negative reasons xxxOne step at a time0 -

I am sorry Hopeful for not posting I have been busy but also a bit couldn't be a***d about anything. 3 months its amazing how time flies.
Today is a good day I have finally tackled the black hole that was my office everything sorted and filed away and it didn't take as long as I thought:) The thinking about it was the worst bit. Whilst I was doing it I realised that it is the only under utilised space we have I rarely use it as is in a separate building and I can't leave the baby so I use my laptop all the time OH uses it once or twice a week and other than the books in there and the filing cabinets it just gets used as a dumping place. There is a rather large dolls house which cost the earth and is completely untouchedwhy I ever thought I would have time to do it I just dont know so if I could sell that it would free up lot of space. It has underfloor heating so is warm and cosy and is only about 10yards from the house. I have
discussed with OS making it into a bedsitting room for when he is home from Uni and he is really excited about it - his sister and her partner have taken his room. It would mean that the baby could move into the foster childs room except for the 2 days a month when he is here when she would have to move back in with us as she should really have been in her own room long ago but we didn't expect to have her this long and are only approved up to 12 months because of the space problem she is now 20 months. If we continue fostering after she leaves we would go back to under 12 months again so that would free the room up for our grandchild except for 2 days a month once he/she is old enough until her parents decide what they are doing which is not likely to be for another 18 months at least.
So thats the plan so I need to buy a proper every day use sofa bed which will not be cheap but is a must as he is a big lad and needs a comfortable bed. A bit of redecoration and rearrangement of furniture but thanks to todays efforts it is organised and tidy and I have already removed some surplus stuff:T
Tomorrow I need to do some charity work. Then tackle an assignment which needs to be done by the 16th and then I shall be totally up to date which will be a lovely feeling
Done some much needed admin today and booked my blood pressure review and smear test so all in all feel very pleased with myself.
Need to update my finances in readiness for the MFiT-T2 update can't believe its 3 months already
Sorry dont post for ages then you get a monster forgive my ramblings
Hope everyone is OK off for a catch up

Nice to see you about and a great idea about the office space. Also good plan about grand child and only taking foster babies in freeing up the space.
You sound very busy as usual.0 -
Hi DT, hope you are wellDouble_Trouble wrote: »So thats the plan so I need to buy a proper every day use sofa bed which will not be cheap but is a must as he is a big lad and needs a comfortable bed. It's not easy getting a sofa bed that is OK for everyday use, I found the best thing was a futon as it was more sturdy.
Hope everyone is OK off for a catch up thats what I've been doing too because FB is being a pain.

Hi DT! Nice to see you.
Can't believe OD is almost due - you must be very excited! I'm sure she has no idea what's coming, I certainly didn't - but she will be fine with a brilliant Mum like you on hand. (Hope she hasn't been watching "One Born Every Minute")
It sounds like things have been traumatic over your little foster babeFingers crossed for her and a big hug to you. Take care x
