They don't sell at a loss; in an effort to thwart iTunes' popularity, the record companies charge Amazon less for the songs.

Lol so they bloomin' should do too! (no offence iTunes! ;))

Well, if they don't like iTunes, it's their own fault.

They sat around with their thumbs up their bottom, while listening to reports of a thing called "the internet" which was apparently quite popular.

Why letting other people figure out a way to distribute their product, instead of doing it themselves, seemed like a good idea is beyond me.

From a sound quality point-of-view the Sony is miles better than anything Apple has come up with. Also you don't need any music-managing software- just drag and drop your files.

Yeah, dragging and dropping is so much easier than clicking a SYNC button on itunes..

seriously, that argument doesn't wash... iTunes is a great piece of software that keeps everything organized, and I don't have to worry about anything. I create a playlist, click a button to have it on my iPhone, and then sync. It is that simple.

But it's effort using your iTouch on more than 1 PC's, not to mention how long it takes to Sync anything with iTunes, let alone program startup times compared to launching Windows Explorer. You may think differently, but from my point of view, if it's simplicity and great usability youre after, get the Sony but if you want the complexity and multitude of apps and things to do instead of listening to music, get the iTouch (sorry, iPod Touch).

i would not buy either .

If you are serious about your music then go for the Ipod classic . I pod touch is cool ( i have the iphone which is pretty much the same thing ) but you can fill 16 GB in no time . especailly if you don't compress your tracks and use Apple lossless encoding ( far superior sound quality !! )

a 120 GB Classic will hold everything you need , plays video too .

which ever IPOD you buy make sure you budget for some decent Headphones , the ones supplied are only fit for the bin . i have a pair of these

they sound great and don't become uncomfy when wearing them for a long while . and they work well at the Gym ( don't fall out ) , and on Airplanes (block out external noise ) ect .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

These are the best value headphones I've had, they've been well worth their price.
