Which mp3 player is better?

Yeah, dragging and dropping is so much easier than clicking a SYNC button on itunes..
seriously, that argument doesn't wash... iTunes is a great piece of software that keeps everything organized, and I don't have to worry about anything. I create a playlist, click a button to have it on my iPhone, and then sync. It is that simple.

My music is already organised, so I don't need, nor would I want to install a third party application to do something already done.
You create a playlist, and click a button, I open a folder and drag files into it. Both very simple, only difference is I didn't have to install a third party application just to get music onto my mp3 player. It's all about personal preference.
Anyway, back to the OP's post.
If it's just for music alone, the Sony all the way.
If you're after something with a bit more to it, the iPod.Sigless0 -
yeah but how are you encoding your music ??
if you are using any sort of compression ( MP3) then you are losing sound quality . thats the beauty of Itunes you can choose your encoding easily .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

It is an iPod Touch.
I say that on the basis of that it is a brand name, and a registered trademark, Apple have not registered or released a product called an iTouch or an itouch or an Itouch, or an Ipod, (with the capitals the wrong way around)

the iPod Touch wins hands down in my opinion, it's so thin, and it is an amazing gadget. Also when 3.0 software comes out you'll have bluetooth with a2dp support for wireless headphones, which the sony doesn't support.

Love the <ocd>!! haha! You are of course correct its iPod Touch0 -

Just as you can choose your encoding easily when ripping the music yourself.
MP3 is fine for use on mp3 players, you can get a nice balance of quality versus size, you don't need huge lossless files of any codec on a portable player, since the average joe (myself inclluded) won't be able to tell the difference.Sigless0 -
From a sound quality point-of-view the Sony is miles better than anything Apple has come up with.
Considering most people can't tell the difference between an 128 kbps mp3 and a CD, I find that very hard to believe.
Try telling the difference between the two when you don't know which is which. Also you don't need any music-managing software- just drag and drop your files.
That was fine when mp3 players held 50 songs.
And iTunes is "drag and drop" if you set it to manually manage music (which is how I use it).Keep correcting her.... go on.. you know you want to...
lol.....she also calls Firefox "Foxfire". :rolleyes:Bowling_4_Gold wrote: »if it's simplicity and great usability youre after, get the Sony but if you want the complexity and multitude of apps and things to do instead of listening to music, get the iTouch (sorry, iPod Touch).
Yes, because Sony are renowned for their ease of use, whereas Apple are well known for their over-complicated design philosophy.
As someone who has used both Sonicstage and iTunes, I know which one makes you want to climb a bell-tower with a sniper rifle, and it's not iTunes.0
