ebay non paying bidder and neg feedback

sold a car 2 weeks ago, advertised it with no tax, buyer wanted to buy the remainder of the tax for £9 even though it had a surrender value of £50 and it wasnt part of the ebay transaction. I stated in the auction i required a £100 depost at the end which the buyer never sent. The buyer was trying to be clever and though id eventualy cave in but i got an offer 6 days after the end of the sale from someone outside ebay, i emailed the original buyer and said i needed to know if they wanted the car, they replied they couldnt go any more than their offer and would understand if i "relisted the car". So i sold it to the other person and put in a non paying bidder dispute so i could get my final fee back. Then i got a message from the ebay buyer asking when they could pick the car up and that they would pay me what the tax was worth, i replied saying the car was sold because as far as i was concerned they didnt want it. This was after the dispute had been started so they obviously realised i assumed they wernt buying it. I then started getting messages saying i had no right selling the car, that id commited to a contract with them etc etc.
I want to know if ive opened a dispute, close the dispute and get my final fee, is it still possible for the buyer to leave me neg feedback?

If the buyer doesn't participate in the dispute process the neg' will be removed by ebay.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -

He probably didn't even want the car, just saw a week spot and turned it all round so you were in the wrong. Don't worry about the neg, you might not even get one, and if you do, there's nowt you can do about it.Wins: Avene Protective Hydrating Cream; 2 x Calvin harris Tickets @ iTunes Festival.

they did participate. Ive just searched their items for sale and there was a buy it now item with 3mins left so i bought it, obviously i have no intention of paying for it, (I DECIDED THAT WASNT A GOOD IDEA,SO PAID)its just insurance that if they leave me neg, they will get the same back.:beer:0 -
The deposit puts off serious buyers. Don't put it in next time.
If you have nothing to worry about you don't need it, and you can't enforce it anyway.
I saw a car I liked the look of once, but had the deposit required in the listing, so I emailed him and said if I won, could I pick it up the same day, and pay all of it on cash, as it was about 10 miles away. Surprisingly he said no, and insisted on the deposit being paid first. I didn't bid.
It must have been sold about 6 times, and each listing oddly stated more little faults, including not running properly at one stage. If you don't trust the buyer, it's self fulfiling normally.0 -
