  • great value for money these flowers, very good quality and very happy with them.

all those slating tesco for doing these flowers sound very hypocritical if they take exception to this promotion, but then go on and take advantage of other promotions, the likes of which are regularly posted here on these forums, etc… of course if you always buy fair trade and boycott the likes of Dell, GAP, and pretty much every other company that takes advantage of cheaper labour markets, then criticise away.

    here here Dave
its no good going on about one type of bussiness that the likes of tesco are huring unless you do all you shopping in the local corner store and buy all your clothes in a local clothes shop or ur electricals in the local store

... as you say if this is how you shop criticise away
THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS ……
    ..…JUST WAIT AND SEE
  • As it happens i do try my best to shop in such manner as to keep what i feel is the best way to keep local retailers going, as i feel we have already lost too many - local shops and small busnesses are needed - i lost my mother not to long ago which has left my father widowed and it can be very inconvenient for people to have to shop at stores like tescos as they are normally on the outskirts ,so killing off the smaller and not so smaller businesses makes it harder for people who are unable to travel to the outskirts, do these larger stores need to sell insurance,tv's, flowers etc or is this greed on behalf of these food stores, its nice to get advice on buying items from experts who specialize in products it won't be long before they are gone, i miss the old hardware shops, and the one to one service you used to get ,its a shame but it has all but disappeared, as i said - would these stores like it if dixons sold food aswell as tv's? I don't think so, lets not lose all our businesses,I did not buy flowers from a superstore, and if everyone else did the same, maybe florists could charge less. As we all know, most city centres are struggling to keep businesses going and this may well be part of the reason why, hence the loss of many jobs.

Hi all dont know if this has been posted already(did a quick search & found nothing) but from 2moro (23/03/06) Tescos are doing 30 roses for £5 in their shops, i know the florist's among us will call me the spawn of the devil but their £4.99 ones at valentines were perfectly presentable & i'm hoping these ones will be the same for mothers day, sorry this is moneysaving not conscience salving

I only got 29!!! I know, because being a MSE (cheapskate), I split them in 2. I did wrap them nicely with cellophane and raffia and they looked a treat - both mothers extremely impressed. Loadsa Brownie points.

Rang Tesco CS and told to return them which I wan't going to do as it was far too inconvenient for 1 rose. They took my name, address etc so we'll see what happens!!!

Did anyone else bother to check?

I think it said on the TV that the offer finished on 26/3.

I wasn't lucky enough to get any from Tescos - DH got them from ASDA. I spoke to someone in Tesco about them and they said they put them out on Saturday at 7 am and by 7.02 they had all gone. You don't stand a chance.

Recieved a £5.00 money card in the post plus a standard letter! :j

If I'd gone back to CS in store, I would have got a replacement (if I was lucky) not to mention the inconvenience and petrol costs!!!!
