30 Roses for £5 [CLOSED]

  • I managed to get 3 bunches of the elusive roses today, one for Mum, one for daughter who is expecting her first baby in June (well she nearly qualifies) and one for an old lady with no kids! Well chuffed! Don't forget Tesco will wrap your flowers for you free at the customer service desk, looks so much nicer than a carrier bag or even a flower bag! Happy Mothers Day!

Just been to my local Tesco and no Roses, just loads of bunches of other flowers for £12.99 + Went to Sainsburys instead and they had loads of bunches of 30 roses for £4.99 plus loads of other flowers much cheaper than Tesco. :T
  • This has got to be a con hasn't it. Went to our local Tesco, which is very large and asked about the £5.00 roses and bouquet and was told by a supervisor that they had never received any. It must have done wonders for their sales, as if they didn't make enough profit already.

Well my daughter (9) managed to get me one of the £5 bunches of flowers.
They are huge and excellent value.
She proudly announced as she handed then over that there were some smaller bunches for £6.99 but these were only £5!
A chip off the old block - definately a budding money saver!

The flowers in the bouquet are poor quality (do not know about the roses)
I would have to disagree with you, i have bought many flowers from tesco even reduced flowers down to 30p a bunch and the reduced ones lasted over 2 weeks. I am looking at a 2 week old bunch that my mum got me for my 21st birthday and they have plenty of life left in them yet.
I agree, when i give my bunch of flowers to my mother in law, first thing she will say is probably " are these the £5 ones off the tv"QUOTE]
My mum doesn't watch tv so i am fine lol :j

I managed to pick up the last bunch of 30 roses yesterday, god only knows how i did it as the amount of people looking at them i was expecting the to be a fight over them. I did notice that they seem to have put stupid prices on most of the flowers that would probably be half that price next on the next delivery.

The Quality of the flowers is poor, not the life.

  • I hope all the mums who received them and all the people who bought them realise they were this cheap because of some other mothers, dads and childrens sweated labour. Tesco should be ashamed of themselves.

Anyway I now believe that Tesco have underpriced themselves out of the market and now have the flower giving credibility somewhere between a garage forecourt and nicking them off a lampost.

    LOL
i do agree with that, as a gift i want to feel some effort has gone into it.
i had the BEST flowers today, paper ones my son made at school.

I totally agree Dazco - dont insult someones business!
ALso - Tesco are selling 'panda' roses which do look like a great deal, but have no scent, and never fully open - they are also available at about £2 for 10 or so at any wholesale flower market (New Covent Garden/ Spitalfieds etc in London)

I have to disagree - I bought a bunch of these roses for my cousin's birthday yesterday & they smell (& look) gorgeous! Bargain at a fiver!
