I do sometimes think is it really worth the hassle, all this moving lark is very stressful and depressing. I am such an impatient person that i want things to happen now, but i know it never happens like this. Our mortgage advisor (who is an old friend of husbands) has said that the base rate will not change and that house prices are definately going down and that we should seriously consider staying put because we wont get a good rate if we move and we are on a good rate now, or we should consider renting (i dont think renting is the answer at all), if it came to it i would just stay where i am and wait. The above is jibberish to me, i dont understand these things very well, to me it is straight forward, sell, buy, move. I think i need to read up on it a bit to understand what they are saying, is there a guide for dummies anywhere.0

Great. So we are finally up on Rightmove - but with the wrong floorplans. I mean really wrong floorplans - they would put me off looking at my house! Now I've got to wait for them to sort the problem out. I wonder how long that's going to take?October no spend on lunches 2/17 so far.0

Or maybe they just got lucky and the viewer is doing all the work for them
Either way, I hope it goes well for you. Perhaps if the viewer is doing the chasing, it might mean they turn into your buyer :T0 -

Good luck with it, hopefully it'll turn into a sale. Can't remember the last time I even had a viewer or a call from the EA for that matter. Oh Wait yes I do... when I gave them their 28 days notice. Typical!!0 -
You a correct we are not living there, the house is empty apart from the appliances which are to be sold with the house. I understand what your saying about it looking better, but was done mainly because of my work load and finding the time to empty it when we do eventually sell, and also for the council tax.
Have spoken to the agent today and they still think we are priced correctly, but have said it is very slow in our area. Also spoke to a couple of auction people who think they can achieve what we are looking for. So we've decided to leave it a few more weeks, if still no interest drop £5000 if no go by autumn then auction.
Can't see where you get an advantage by not paying the council tax if it's going to cost you a £5K asking price drop or possibly auction. Our buyer liked what he saw so much he's paying £1K less than the asking price, and for that we decided we'd throw in most of the furniture (as we don't need it), saves getting rid of it. He's delighted.Make £2025 in 2025

Having furniture in doesn't necessarily make a difference...
Ours is a studio flat and it looks a darn sight better without furniture so people can appareciate the space and the possibilities of converting it into a 1 bed....0 -
Many EAs don't advertise in the local press nowadays; in fact a lot don't use Rightmove or other similar sites either…
…From my own observations of RM, it often seems to be largely the properties that are less desirable or difficult to sell for whatever reason, that get exposure.…Looking at prices in same area - could be that even in some areas a certain small area or estate/developement can be more desirable. Estate Agents can't just say that properties in same area (area of a couple of miles even) go at such a such so that is the price it should be?! Half the time they don't know what the area is like, whether it's a quiet cul-de-sac etc…
When they tout for the business, you should always ask for the three prices:- I wanna sell it tomorrow.
- I wanna sell it in the next two months.
- I wanna sell it sometime, but I ain’t really bothered when.
