I have used OSPS twice and received my cashbacks both times, but a colleague missed out on £150 after they said the claim form never arrived. When he reclaimed, they said "Tough, you've missed the deadline".

With respect, I have not tried to be misleading and if it has been read as such I apologise.  I only added my entries on the referers section after noticing that the Talkworldonline offer was similar and on the referers board I identified in detail what is available with each phone.

Thank you for highlighting that I bought from Talkworldonline - I did, it arrived on Friday.  They do have a similar offer for the free phone and 12 months free line rental, which seemed a good deal to me (ie still get a phone and line rental for free, after cashback).  On the referers board, in response to a question, I stated:
From my understanding, the OSPS deal is identical and relies on you dropping to Your Talk 30 after month 6 (if the cashback is £225, then it equates to the same - £15 per month charged by orange for 3 months, £30*3 to month 6, then £15*6 for remainder = £225).  If this is not the case, please can you post the terms of the offer from OSPS (included with your wife's phone).  OSPS now also offer Your Plan 120+120 which may be better, but it is not clear if this is for 12 months.

If my understanding is wrong, thank you for highlighting this as I have myself an inferior deal.  I asked the question whether OSPS ask you to downgrade after 6 months (and above in this thread) - if not, then their's is a better deal.

My message above in this thread does state that there are affiliate and non-affiliate routes - I thought that was clear?  If not, please can you advise on what is appropriate wording so that I keep within the rules of this discussion board as I have no intention to offend or mislead?

On the referers board, I also asked the question whether talkworldonline offer a price/offer match, as I have bought the Siemens AX65 on OVP Vodafone Anytime 200 and, if OSPS are offering 12 months without downgrading, I haven't got as good a deal as I thought I had when I signed up last week (still twelve months free line rental, but only get 30 minutes for the final six months).  Perhaps you know?  Also, does anyone know where on the OSPS site it identifies what the offers include please?

    Kind regards

    Mr B

Your thread on the referrer's forum only details each phone from Talkworld - you also again wrongly suggest that Talkworld do the same deals as OSPS in your Referrer's thread!

This is from your misleadinfg post (referrer's forum):
Further to the interesting thread on the free Sony Ericsson K500i and Siemens AX65 on OVP Vodaphone 100 through onestopphoneshop, Talkworldonline have introduced the same deal

My message above in this thread does state that there are affiliate and non-affiliate routes

That is true, but when an affiliate posts an offer, it is reasonable for us to expect that when you also make it sound just as good as the offers being discussed on this thread, that you are speaking with some authority on the topic - and not just using a thread as an opportunity to gain some commission earning sales!

    *****************************
On the referers board, I also asked the question whether talkworldonline offer a price/offer match

The referrer's forum is a bit of a dungeon - if you have any questions, then you stand a better chance of getting an answer by posing questions in the main forums which get many more hits than the referrers!

If you need to know the answer quickly (as presumably you are able to cancel your inferior talkworld deal if they won't price match OSPS) - then why not phone talkworld and ask them?

Writing in brief as in a rush:

    1. I have amended the message on the referers board as I had and have no intention of misleading - I understood that it was the same but as you have told me it is not, then I have changed the commentary accordingly.
    2. I understood it was the same deal therefore believed that it was as good as the OSPS offer - I wasn't trying to ramp commissions - I only put them on the referers board as I thought it was a good deal and thought everyone could benefit.  It still is a good offer, but OSPS would now appear to be better, based on further information provided.
    3. I haven't seen any (-ve/+ve) comment about talkworldonline, but there seems to be mixed views about OSPS - some people may want to investigate alternative offers, therefore amended the message as suggested but left on the board.  If anyone has views on Talkworldonline it would be interesting to hear.
    4. Under About Us on Talkworldonline the message from the MD states that they are committed to exceeding customer expectations and offering best prices - will contact them to find out if this includes price matching.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Kind regards

:Last year a few of us took out the osps deal with cash back, we had free calls plus free phone same as above. most received the cash backs a few did not for various reasons they missed the claims period so be sure you mark your calendar and keep  up to date with the thread on the deal, someone usually posts on here to remind us all but as i said just in case mark your calendar.

Don't fret about it Mr. B. Smartasss has a habit of shooting first and asking questions later. Everyone makes mistakes. At least you can acknowledge yours.

That said, I wish all retailers would standardise the description of their offers as some of them are downright misleading.

    all the best,
    Merry Christmas.

  • My bank charges for setting up direct debits (£7)
Sorry to go so far back up the thread, but I couldn't believe nobody had commented on this. Who the hell do you bank with??? Charging any fee is an incredible rip off, considering the bank does no work in setting up direct debits (it is all done electronically by the retailer's bank). I get the feeling that you would save more money by switching bank than switching phone provider (esp if your bank is going to charge you another £7 to set up a new DD).

Good job I saw the smileys, Smartasss or my lawyers would have been involved and all ;);)

    Merry Christmas,
