Yes you can cancel your current T-Mobile contract but not cause of the roaming (that is a smoke screen they put up to hide the real changes.)

    http://www.mobileguru.co.uk/contracts/T-Mobile%20TC.pdf

is the current T&C, read and you can see what they have change which will allow you to cancel.

With the roaming part as they said due to currency etc. they can argue price not gone up, and also it is an additional service.

Also remember starbucks is removing T-Mobile hotspot as well

I agree with Armenger. I dont think their call center is competent enough, email them
cust.rel [at] t-mobile.co.uk and you will get a reference number back for an audit trail.

I found the current (version 55) t&c on their web site:
    t-mobile.co.uk/content/pdf/tcs_cvn_55.pdf
and compare the current t&c with what they are proposing:
    t-mobile.co.uk/content /pdf / additional_charges_tc_leaflet_cvn_56.pdf

they even called their pdf document "additional charges leaflet". lol.
    well done :T lol.

If the argument for Roaming is not signifant to cancel the contract, are there other changes in the new terms and conditions that can be used to cancel the contract.

I believe the question is if it is of material detriment for the consumer and who decides that? In my opinion, as I leave the UK, roaming is important for me as a user and so of material detriment for me.

Anyone has experience with cancelling a contract, is it best to call everyday or just sent email?

Could you please tell me which change in the new T&C specifically? Thank you
  • Hi all,

i am a complete newbie to these sorts of things. does anyone know how much of a leg we have to stand on when it comes to cancelling our t-mobile contracts based on the EU roaming changes, or anything else.

i am certainly happy to give them a call and argue the points, and it will effect me as i do like to have long weekends in different european locations (and did so last year as well, so t-mobile will have records of that), but was hoping to get some pointers first.

    any advice?

A court summons will soon concentrate their mind as to what is "material detriment"; perhaps they would like to come to court and explain?

Well, I have sent them an email, but no reply yet. I guess they will take their time. Forget about calling them, they are not authorised to do anything.
