    Anyone cancelled?

I had thought an international call could cost no more than 46 euro cents, surely at today's rate it should be no more than 40 pence.

It does mention something about this in T-Mobile's FAQs.
    (A. The yearly price cap set by the EU Commission is set in euros. Due to the current economic climate and the relative weakness of the pound (GBP) against the euro (EUR), the cost of supporting using your phone abroad has increased. We've changed the rate to reflect the increased costs we've faced over the past year and continue to face now. But we're still complying with EU regulations.)

    This is from Ofcom's website;

    Mobile Phones -
Cost of using your mobile abroad (international roaming)

    European Union Legislation June 2007

The European Regulation says that all mobile phone companies must provide a standard ‘Eurotariff’. This means a charge of no more than 46 Euro cents per minute to make a call and 22 cents per minute to receive a call before August 2009.

Im going to try. Afterall just because there is a CAP doesnt mean they must hit the ceiling. This price rise is above inflation therefore surely breaks the T&C for increases? I'll search for the previous successes regarding 0800 charges and use that as a template.

I spent more than an hour on the phone with customer service today. First they were not aware of the change. I gave them the link and after spoken to 3 people I was transfered to the manager.

Their answer was as it is not part of my price plan, roaming is an additional service, I can not apply for point 7.2.5.3 of their terms and conditons. I told him that I want to cancel based on point 2.11.2 and 7.2.5.2 but he kept saying roaming was not part of my priceplan as I agreed on a UK contract.

Finally got an email address of customer head office and sent them an email. As this is a material detriment for me, I believe it is my right to cancel the contract.

    Anybody else spoke to them?

Do most people actually use roaming or just looking for a way out the contract?

I have been on the phone to t-mobile as well and its true their customer care has no idea about any t&c changes. Even their disconnection department was not aware of what is going on.

The point is that yes, EU-roaming may not be in the t&c, however, they then form part of a UK standard contract law.

However, what should concern us more are the changes they propose in 2.12 and 4.4.4. They could potentially be of material detriment.

Cant find the old t&c - seen some sites which contain some things but its all pretty garbled and not able to tell what time period they relate to.

The only significant thing I have found is http://www.t-mobile.com/Templates/Popup.aspx?PAsset=Ftr_Ftr_TermsAndConditions&print=true

But it doesnt seem to relate to the notations referred to in the changed document http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/08-09-tcupdate/

Even searched t-mobile site and logged into my account - nought.

One thing that I realized in doing this searching I was never given any t&c conditions from t-mobile when I signed up to my contract just last month.

Dialaphone sent me t&c which seems to relate to their service but t-mobile didn'd send me anything. I am not looking to cancel myself (got cheap deal etc) but its curious.

I dont intend T-Mobile to honour the T&C, I intend it to go to small claims court. Of course the roaming charges are part of the carriers contract, it might not be part of the price plan but who cares? It is still part of the T&C which governs services and additional services as supplied by TMobile. I have emailed them as I do not trust anyone on the phone to be competent in any way shape or form. Plus it is easier to audit trail an email conversation.
