Are we talking about a PC or a DVD player Kez?0

pc
i've tried all the dvd programmes i have and no joy0 -
Ok - let's try and eliminate the speakers...follow the wires from the speakers to the back of your PC. Unplug them, and plug in a pair of headphones (if you have some). Listen to the DVD through the headphones...any better?0

nope not any better still jumps0

Right - so the problem isn't the speakers. You can unplug the headphones and plug the speakers back in now.
Ok - is today the first time the jumping has happened? If the answer's yes, then shut down your PC, restart it, and try again. Any improvement?0 -
is it only on 1 dvd or all?
does it happen in the same place or is it random.
does it happen on any other type of files, such as mp3, or an avi file with sound.Waddle you do eh?0 -

its been doing it for a couple of days i've tried restarting a number of times and it makes no difference.
i've tried various dvds and all have the same problem although it seems fine with other files saved onto the PC0 -
thank you both so much i'd be a mess without your help :T0

Ok Kez...it sounds then like your speakers aren't the problem, but maybe the DVD drive is instead.
I'm not particularly technically minded either, but there is something that will help us check - how are you with downloading and installing software?0
