Out of curiosity, how long after you were declared bankrupt did you open the account with Abbey?

Regards to the point re: Virgin Media, not sure where this 50% extra comes from?
If you do not have a D/D set up they will charge £5 per mth extra but you can pay by cash at a local pay point (normally at garages/newsagents etc) - just take your bill along and they scan your bill and take your cash.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi charlie

My 50% was probably a slight exageration, but what I am having to do is use a friends card to pay but they won't do it every month so evey other month I am getting a £10 late payment charge on top of the £5 every month for not using direct debit.

Because I joined their ebilling scheme a while ago my bills don't come with any payment options, eg a giro credit form. which makes it harder to pay.

Speaking to VM they state that I am not on ebilling and try to sign me up for it!

    Matt
  • Hi Whippetman

Just give Virgin a call and ask for a barcoded letter. This will be out to you in 3 working days and you can present this as many times as you like at a paypoint with your cash, they just scan the barcode.
    Hope this helps mate.
