Afternoon everyone, sorry I couldn't get here earlier but DH was burning CD's or something and I couldn't even nip on before I went out.
Fantastic day at the market and in Boots. I spent about £20 in Boots and came home with bag fulls of stuff. I spent some of my points on half price Osh-Kosh clothes for DD and she is over the moon with it.
Managed to get loads of veggies for £1.50 and 3 butternut squash for £1. A huge bag full of kitchen bits and bobs, including steamers, apple corer, cake tins, pie tins and one of those under shelf shelves, all for £3. A huge piece of pink material for 50p, a beautiful teddy in a dress for £2 which is going away for DD's birthday, the list is endless, I spent £25 and came home loaded down. And DD is now upstairs watching the remastered Disney Cinderella video I bought her for £2
Bargain, I thought that was the way things were going, you just needed a little moral support to let you know it was okay I think?
Math - more hugs for today, as things don't disappear in 24 hours.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
MATH - I've only just caught up with what's happened to you and yours, and I'm so sorry. Keep your pecker up, my DH could be made redundant in 9 days time - the firm he works for, their contract with the council is due to run out on 31st March - and no-one knows whether they are going to stay on, be made redundant or what - personally I think that's a shocking way to treat people - and obviously I'm very worried about DH losing his job.
Let's look on the bright side though MATH - when you've let your Mathletts blow out the candle on the fairy cake pop it in the post to me and I'll let Lil' Stressed have a go, then I'll send it back..... :rotfl:
Honestly, I'll be thinking of you, and you never know what may turn up (incidentally I've done the Lotto tonight - if I win I'll let you have a share)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Phew! It's been a manic week so far, but at least it's going quickly. Once again my expenses didn't get paid in, so I had to send several snot-o-grams before anyone bothered to look into it. Lost in a pile on the Finance Director's desk again waiting for authorisation.......... They make me so cross
Then while doing my expenses for this month I came across a receipt for the gym - I had to pay upfront for the remainder of this month before switching to DD & they charged me £20 too much on my debit card. They're not the brightest cookies in the jar to be fair.
MATH - Mr Lucie desperately hates his job at the minute & is applying for things left, right & centre. He had an interview the same day as Mrs Math's Boots one, but it went "internally" Something will come up for both of them, & in the words of D:Ream "things can only get better"................
Right, off to watch boots n all (on Sky+ so I can ffwd the adverts)0 -
Evening all
Well, I was back at work today, hence the late posting.
PP - :T on your fantastic OU result!
MATH - you do more than enough for Mrs MATH and the MATHLETTS. Looking after them is a full and a half time job. You're a superstar (and I'm envious!).
OH has picked up some steak from my favourite butcher, so he will shortly be putting it on the griddle pan. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Not sure what he'll be cooking with it, but I'm thinking it'll be something like potatoes and veg.
Unfortunately, when I came home this evening I found our latest gas bill. I was quite horrified, but I suppose it could be worse.................. This time last year, our rented house must have been as efficient as a broken window so it's not THAT bad.
Anyway, I need to get the load out of the WM. I'll leave you lot to it!

Hello everyone and a big thank you for all the hugs.
I'm feeling a lot happier tonight after having a chat with the doctors. They are telling me not to worry and are quite confident that it is likely not something serious.:j I've to go back in 6 weeks and may or may not have to have a biopsy, depending on the next set of tests.
So I'm in positive mode and looking forward to all the lighter evenings for getting out and about for walks and when the weather picks up for starting a herb garden at this house.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Well, it's official (or unofficial as the case may be) DH is definately out of a job on 31st March
His mate works for the company that gives the contracts out, and they haven't spoken for 8 months (male pride and that sort of thing) but anyway he phoned tonight and told DH that his company didn't win the contract, so as of the 31st March no more work. We are now waiting to see whether he will get any redundancy pay or whether he will get offered another job silly miles away  I cannot believe that his company has not told the poor men anything!!!! If it wasn't for DH's mate giving him the heads up - we'd still be in the dark - BTW DH is not allowed to tell any of the other men this info (I understand why - but I would find that torture!!!) Oh well 8 days to go - I wonder when they will officially be told what's going on
DH is doing the typically male thing of "don't worry - I'll find another job" and I'm doing the typically female thing of "course you will darling - you're special - you'll get snapped up!" but I have to admit I'm scared.
Sorry for moaning - but I couldn't phone a friend in front of DH - and you guys seem to care so much.
I'll keep you posted!!!!!!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Just checking in I've had a really busy day
Hugs SoMo1, I'm sure that your DH will be snapped up quickly and I agree that its a shocking way to treat employees.
I've been running around like a nutter today, toddler group then a visit to the Halifax to open a savings ac for DD as per Martins best buy, unfortuately the Halifax has changed there computer system and the staff dont appear to be able to work it so it took an hour to open the ac. Then back home to clean the oven by this time it was 2pm. I cleaned the oven tided round and then turned round went back out dropped DD at grandmas and then went to have my hair done by my SIL for her college course and I've just walked in about 10 minutes ago. I'm just going to do my few evening jobs ie tidy up after the family and then I'm going to bed.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Just passing through,
