Hi all
We had a very funny thing happen last night. One of my lodgers went out for a meal with her work mates on Monday night, last night hubby & I were in the kitchen with her & hubby asked her if she’d had a good meal, when she replied that the meal had been very good, hubby said, ‘I get paid on Friday, maybe we should try it there’ My lodger then got very annoyed & said ‘You should ask your wife, not me’ He was asking me! I was stood beside him at the time.
I know she doesn’t like my hubby, she is very bitter about her divorce & so hates all men, but it made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere during the evening.
It’s sunny here, but still very cold, but we desperately need some rain for the garden.
Breakfast was Kashie cereal
Lunch an egg sarnie that was masquerading as a house brick
Tonight beef casserole already in the slow cooker.
Hugs to all

Washing is on the line as it is a nice day.
Dishes have been done in DW and a shepherds pie is in the slow cooker.
For DD who does not like this I have made tomato, garlic and pepper pasta.
Have a fruit cake in the breadmaker.
Decided to start a spending diary and then had to enter £5 for a dvd from cdwow to make use of the £5 voucher which expires tomorrow.
Have I saved £5 or spent £5???
At least I will be able to see where the bits and bobs add up!

Hi Yall, a bright and cold day here in the emids, a good hard frost this morning but the sunshine made up for it.
I've cleaned up this morning and stuck a load of washing in and competed my paid2clicks. Dinner is some unidentified white fish from the freezer with a cheese sauce, mash tatties, carrots, peas and brocolli.
I've also sat and rejigged the budgets to try and make ends meet which I will have to talk Mrs MATH through later. I'm seriously considering selling my car as I rarely use it and can use Mrs MATH's car at night to go grocery shopping so in the emids it won't be missed much but over at the coast we're a long walk from anywhere and would be pretty much stranded mon-fri when Mrs MATH is not there. Only one minute from 5 miles of golden beach tho (hard life I know!!) I can feel a wally-trolly purchase coming on LOL:eek: I also need to scrap the MATHLETTS gymnastics, singing and music lessons and slash their birthday party budgets to one fairy cake and a cheese straw:rolleyes: .
I seem to be coming across a lot of people (not on here) who chirp I should get a 'bit of a job'. They soon back away when I ask if they will pick my three kidz up from school and mind them until 5 free of charge. Particularly annoying when I know I do more work by 10am on a Monday that they do all week. School hours and school holiday jobs are almost non-existant. There are a lot of cheque clearing and data entry jobs in our area but when you look at what they are paying you could probably afford childcare for one child but never three. I do 3-4 hours paid work from home each day but no-one sees that so it doesn't count;) :mad:We'll keep looking and see what drops in our lap!
Bargain Rzl I know you said you didn't need a hug but you're getting one anyway ((((((((HUG))))))))). Pour yourself a big glass of wine, stick on one of your classical cds and play the air violin until your hearts content. (Your wondering how I know you do that arnt ya? LOL:rotfl: ) How nice to be your first thought in the morning, hehehe My username was MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE but everyone called me MATH and when the site was re-done and I think we had to re-register or somat and there was a fashion for changing usernames (some had a new name every week) I changed it to MATH.
Suerob hehehehehe. Have you always lived in 'Carry On' land?:rotfl: Thank good nes he wasn't asking ya if you wanted him to make ya baps all toastie(for lunch of course) LOL
PP Give that stairlift some action girl. Just think how many hob nobs ya could snaffle if you can now sneak downstairs and not wake them up.
Have a good day one and all and thanks for all the nice messages and PM's.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Hi everyone!
Normal day today after spending most of yesterday in bed except for a brief spell watching the athletics [worth it just to see the inspirational Dean Machine!]
Have hit the lucozade and am feeling half human today! Not a lot planned as am trying trying to be a human being not a human doing today! If I'm up to it this evening I'll do some more work on my college assignment as I have to have them all finished before Easter.
Tea is going to be chicken and stuffing burgers with broccoli and peas.

Just popped on v quickly _ - I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if I am missing something that I shouldn't!
MATH - I have always wondered where that username came from - I'm glad you cleared that up! As for people telling you to get a job - tell them where to go! I admire you for what you do about your house and the way you seem to run it and look after your 3 children so effeciently. I'm sure that I am not the only one on here who wishes their OH was as helpful about the house as you are - My OH does the bare minimum and I know that if I didn't ask (or nag - whatever way you want to see it :rotfl: ) then he wouldn't even do that! As for looking after the kids all day while I went to work - the kids would be ok and the house a tip - or vice versa!! :rotfl:
You carry on as you are - never mind the busybodies! Send them to me and I'll sort them out for you :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon everyone.
PP - congratulations on your assignment mark. That does seem high. I'm glad the stairlift beeps are less bothersome now. Our front door beeps like a shop door when you go out, but i can now sleep through it if DH is working late or early. I do think it will fade into the background.
catowen - i hope you can eat something proper soon. I think i would be finding a nice bit of a gooey cake, or chocolate mousse. Yoghurt would probably go down quite well also.
Math - sorry about Mrs Math and the job. I think you had prepared for it a bit as you hadn't heard very quickly. I hope you find a way to keep your car as they are very useful in emergency situations, and i would hate for you to feel tied. When my car battery was flat and i couldn't use it, it felt awful. The disadvantage of being on the edge of a town rather than close to stuff.
Bargain - sorry to hear about the boyf. I hope you can mangage to stay friends. You have such a full social life all the time, so you might feel like you get more me time.
Well, i'm still being quite lazy and not doing much apart from the washing. The sickness appears to have gone, but i'm finding it hard to keep my energy levels up. Before tea yesterday i felt really faint, and went really pale with black circles under my eyes. The improvement in weather today has really helped my mood.
I have been managing to chop veg up for dinner and deal with some cooking, but the sight of raw meat isn't pleasant at the moment. I could happily go veggie, but DH wouldn't be amused. He's still doing the cooking bless him.
I've been in touch with work about my return on Monday. I have a light week planned, and i've been told i won't be put on the 'cover' list until after May half term, so they really are going to be spoiling me. That probably means that they will absolutely hammer me when i am allowed back on, but i will have to monitor it and not let that happen.
I got my scan appointment through for Monday the 3rd of April. I really can't wait. I really need some proper confirmation now of puddings existence, other than feeling sick and fat.
I've got a shopping trip planned for Friday or i would have to return to work without any trousers on. I have literally one pair of trousers suitable for work that fit now, and a coouple of skirts for when it gets warmer. My plan is a couple of good quality and not too expensive pairs of trousers. Unfortunately i also have to buy an outfit for my nephews christening as my planned one doesn't zip up.
I'm going to stop waffling and try to have a more productive afternoon.

Hi Everyone - I don't often manage to get time to read this thread all the way through because DD1 hogs the computer with MSN all the time - but managed to find a spare hour today so caught up. Sorry to hear that Mrs Math didn't get the job at Boots - I am in a similar situation to Mrs Math except my Mr Math traded me in for a younger childless model a couple of years ago so, whilst I am loving being at home and have given myself a year to find another job whilst living off of my redundancy money, things are pretty tight here too. I got to the final 2 for a great job with great pay at the University a few weeks ago and then was unsucessful so I know how Mrs Math feels!
I decided before to strip the walls in our front room which wasn't my brightest ever idea as there is years old painted over millions of times woodchip on the walls and it is not proving easy to remove (any tips on how to get it off welcome - lol!), but managed to get some lovely half price paint in Focus so that was good.
Breakfast: toast
Lunch: chicken and bacon sandwich and a leftover sausage
Dinner: fish, mash, carrots and peas and some leftover brocolli and cauli cheese, followed by fruit salad.
Hope you are all having a good day!!Jane
