I did it - the driving - and it was fine
Rhys squeals when we put him in his car seat but calms down by the time I get to the front door  Didn't go to the cash machine with him in the car though - went to the corner shop for milk, bread and cashback while OH was getting Rhys ready to go out
He enjoyed being passed around everyone. My SIL's mum was there (it's my sister's b'day so she'd come for tea) and I think SIL was a [STRIKE]bit[/STRIKE] lot miffed with how much her mum was enjoying Rhys being there - SIL being my sister's wife, hence not a huge chance of grandkids for her mum anytime soon!
Spoken to our builder and he's not starting back here this Monday, but a week on Monday. Ah well, gives us more time to get sortedAm quite looking forward to OH going back to work on Monday so we can get some sort of routine going..

They got married on their 5th anniversary last September. Sis is 24 (today) and SIL is 36. Several years ago, they were talking about SIL having a baby now and then Sis having one in years to come (using a donor - think sample pots arriving by motorcycle courier, so I'm told!), in that order due to their ages. Then my sis finished uni and her career really took off so now she's caught up with that and there hasn't been any mention of kids since. SIL isn't so career minded so I think she feels like there's a "gap" in her life to fill with kids but my Sis isn't so enthusiastic now - I guess because time is more on her side than SIL's.
Will be interesting to see what comes up in the next few years, once Rhys gets a bit more interesting. I know SIL wants to take him camping -and to rock concerts, dress him in skinny jeans and studded belts and put his hair in a green mohican.. god help me!
ETA: The other thing is the money. Obviously they're going to need some help somewhere along the line and that's going to cost.. my sis is the big earner in the household so if she takes time out it's really going to hit them. My parents have already said they won't give/loan them any more because they paid for the wedding.. and flat deposit and furniture and car and sister's uni costs.. etc etc :rolleyes:0
