Sami - you have my sympathies as I've had serious internal botty grapes before, and it felt like someone was ramming a sharp stick up there everytime I sat down or moved :o I got some suppositories from the doctors which were horrid to use, but it settled the problem down within a few days. Not pleasant but it's worth getting checked out and treated to get rid of the pain.
Here I go again on my own....

ooh we're like the ladies in the dulcoease advert :rotfl:

"i used to have a big pain in my life"
    "til she ditched him"

    :rotfl:

my OH still laughs at that every time it comes on, and he seems to find the vagisil and lanacane adverts hilarious too!

i cant praise the baby whisperer methods enough, i really cant. we havent had a full on baby-rage screaming fit in 2 days now, and seth decided to sleep through for the second night in a row :j which was nice! even the kitty decided to not be a pest and scratch at the bedroom door!
theres a massive weight off my shoulders this morning, i've found cheap reconditioned washing machine and fridge on ebay, both said ask for a quote on local delivery and both came back free even though we're about half an hour away from the seller :j :j the fridge is getting delivered on the monday afternoon and the washing machine on the tuesday. i can now relax as we have everything sorted for moving on monday!
now as OH is off today i intend to let him take over seth and loll on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and my sniffles!!

...which reminds me - what has everybody done with their Child Trust Fund voucher?? I think I have wasted the extra interest that I might have got by putting it somewhere sensible by holding onto it for too long!

we put ours (sorry - Annabel's) into an ethical fund with these people http://www.familyinvestments.co.uk/ctfethicalfund.aspx It was my hubbie's choice I have to confess I only filled in the form! We aren't adding to it though as I have no way of telling how responsible she'll be when she's 18. If she's like me it'll be fine, if she's like her dad was then there's no hope!!! so we've also opened a seperate account so we can decide when she gets it and if we ever tell her about it (I don't like the idea of children having a trust fund expectation)

we have had some success with the gaviscon, my baby girl hardly brings up milk. it's amazing really. i could easily go through three muslins a day previously. i have also bought her a wedge to put in her crib so that she is slightly raised when she sleeps so she doesn't bring up anything then either.

it's just how lightly she sleeps ... not sure if there is anything i can do about that. what she seems to be doing now is once she is down, she might sleep 4 to 5 hours, have a feed (not always a full one) and then if i get her back into the crib she is awake again with 2 hours and then regularly again after that. have no idea why. i have been putting her in with me after the first feed, but last night i put her back in her crib, she had a few more hours in there and then i let her come in with me.

am i the only one too not wanting to put her newborn clothes away???

congrats with the gaviscon - that's great news.

I am having to put lots of clothes away now. I passed on all the boring white unisex stuff to my godson's mother for her new one - who was born 3 days ago and is super cute! However, I've kept the 'special' things and have all the girly things still. I don't plan on holding on to all of them forever, but some will go in a special memory box. (i never used to be this sentimental!!!)

going to order this book and try it I think. LO slept through the night, but I didn't as I kept expecting to be woken up:o As hubby points out when he puts her down she sleeps through - i think it's a smell thing. Guess what he's doing tonight! We are also going to sacrifice the evenings we got back - which means we'll get our night sleeps back. Well that's the theory:rotfl:we can work on bringing bedtime forward slowly - she is only 5 months after all. SOmetimes I forget and perhaps expect too much from her!

right off to get organised. ;) Got to go collect the rug doctor:T

I'm wondering about Toby. When he is fed lying down, he gets really restless. In the mornings especially, he wimpers and waves his arms and legs about, and often wretches a bit. He is fine as soon as I sit him up though. I can't tell if it is displeasure at having to be led in bed quietly while I sleep, or if he is in pain/uncomfortable. He is usually okay in the middle of the night, its mainly the morning feeds where he has to gulp down a lot, and chokes and splutters.

Do you think I should try block feeding?

I thought Baby Whisperer stuff was awesome but I guess I tried it too late/not rigorously enough/with OH doing other things, so couldn't stick with it. Happy to hear of people getting results from it though.

Angelfairy, glad Gaviscon seems to be doing the trick - it was very helpful for us for a couple months, if there is much vomiting or weight loss despite it though do go to a doctor, there's all kinds of prescription stuff which can help some babies.

We put our CTF into a fund - engage Mutual - offering some vouchers at the time (£40 at Boots? or something), I figured that given the relatively small amount the actual fund is not going to make a massive difference, and £40 is £40. We're trickling in a tenner a month but not intending to ever make it a major source of savings.
I don't think it's a big deal where you put it, silly not to put it anywhere because you're paralysed by choices though :p you can make it a very small amount of work! There's even a guide on MSE - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/child-trust-fund-vouchers

We put our CTF into Yorkshire Building Society as 'shares' way of doing things is so up and down but at least in BS you get to keep what you put in. But we also read the article on here....

Ooo is the Pampers mess up at Adsa's only online or is it in store as well does anyone know ?

Off to hospital later for bloods results and to see consultant re VBAC etc

Feelie, is it your appt today , if so hope all goes well...... cant remember from so many pages back, sorry

Thanks Mazcabs, appointment is at 2pm. Luckily I just have this one home appointment, then I can hopefully have telephone appointments which will be even easier. I don't feel able to get to her office, but I don't really want her to come here either.

Funny we're talking about CTF's, I was only just thinking yesterday I should do something with Caitlyn's... In all honesty though it will probably just go into an Abbey account... Aimee's is with them and both the girls bank accounts... Makes it easier having it all in one place...

Poor Hubby has some kind of man lurgy today and is up in bed ruining my plans for the day... And even my back up plan would involve being in the bedroom (putting away washing and ironing) so can't do that either... <sigh>
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I haven't sent mine(Kai's) off yet either....in fact I only just found it again about two days ago, after it got lost in the 'filing' drawers since it arrived!

I'm the same....we have both been with Natwest for about 15yrs and just ended up putting Jaden's in there, so will probably just put Kai's in there too, just seems easier to do that:o

In a way I am annoyed at the introduction of the CTF, as all it has done is cause me a headache....what do I do about Luca? It seems unfair that he won't get any money because he was born before it started.......Unless I manage to save up to give him some:rolleyes:

CTF - we put ours in The Hanley Building Society, which is based in stoke.. you have to go in to set up the account, but once it is set up you can do it online. It was the highest rate at the time, but might not be now....

I'm trying to buy Izzy some 6-9 month long sleeved bodysuits. No-one seems to do them though. You can get single ones for a tenner each, but they can go take a flying leap! Any ideas?

And I think we are teething now. Seeing as this little madam is as grumpy and clingy as she was yesterday :~(
