Sami, please be aware that some schools ask for proof of residencey, like utility bill or community charge bill. Plus someone somewhere, who knows you don't live there will inform on you, especially if it means their child gets the place. School admittance is a nightmare of a minefield. My son is just tleaving reception class. And there have been 122 applications for 50 places for Septembers reception year, its dog eat dog, believe me
I'm dreading when it's Edgar's turn, the MWs informed me that this year they have had approx DOUBLE the usual number of births so far

Is there a way of finding out if/how oversubscribed a school is?

Ps. if it weren't for the damn credit crunch we'd probably be living in the catchment area by now :(

Whoever was asking about Montessouri schools - that's what we've got Izzy into. From what I picked up while I was there, they are all about learning through play, so there are lots of activities/games they can do, which are fun but are also teaching them "life skills" - in the babies room they had baskets of remotes and phones and things, and when they got bigger they do pouring and whatnot, and lots of touchy feely stuff, which mainly seemed to involve getting messy - fine by me, especially if someone else is cleaning up afterwards ;) Apparently the babies had been playing with baked beans and custard that week! (They also get their own snacks when they are big enough, and are encouraged to do their own washing up too... a girl can dream can't she ;) )

We do messy play with beans and foam etc at our Booby Club once a month! TBH most of the babies hate it :rotfl:

My niece came out for dinner with us this evening. Her waters went earlier but the hospital sent her home because she had no contractions. If nothing happens she is going in at 8am tomorrow morning to be induced...which gives her 19 hours to give birth before her mom (my SIL) is due to leave for the airport

Benjamin was really good whilst we were out for dinner - he sat sucking a lettuce leaf whilst we ate :rotfl:and to say it was 2+ hours after his bedtime when we left he was only just starting to get grumpy. Needless to say he went straight down when we got home - bless him.

    Evening ladies :)

I have managed to stay off here all day !!! (well its nearly tomorrow :))
I spent today decluttering my wardrobes, OMG I have so much crap it is unbelievable !!
I keep everything, from everyone and everywhere and it all goes in boxes or bags at the bottom of my wardrobe so today I decided to be ruthless on it and my clothes !!
I have been keeping all my size 8s since before I had Jasmine 6 years ago, and lets be honest, even if I lose a serious amount of weight, my b00bs and hips are too big now to ever be a size 8 again :( I will be a happy lady if I can get to a 12 :)
    4 bags filled !!!
There is space in my room :)

Jasmine stole a load of old dress jewelery and belts and scarves etc.. that were all fashionable at one point but really are not now !! And Dylan lay watching me dancing to really loud music while tidying !!!

...which reminds me - what has everybody done with their Child Trust Fund voucher?? I think I have wasted the extra interest that I might have got by putting it somewhere sensible by holding onto it for too long!
