HI,
I think you will find your answers on this website:-

Hi,
Found this site as well. Specifically for students with a disability. There is a drop menu on the top "UK Pages", which you can click on to bring up the Scotland page, which gives information.
Taken from site:Skill Scotland wants disabled people to make the most of their educational and employment opportunities and can help by providing the information and advice that they need.
I am sure this site will be of use, you can also e-mail them for advice and I would hope they point you in the right direction.
Good luck!

Im not on DLA but I am registered disabled as I have MS.
Could you explain in what terms you're registered as registration was dropped some time ago to avoid labelling and stigmatising?alaska30 wrote:Only two weeks ago I applied and today I received the bus pass.
Does this differ from the national entitlement card?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
No, the register couldn't have been dropped as I only registered disabled this year. If you are registered disabled the only proof you need to apply for the free bus pass is a signature from your doctor. For my blue badge it was the same. I am on no benefits at all as I am self employed but that doesn't mean I cant claim as I understand I am entitled to claim DLA AND DWA if I so wish.0

The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) did indeed abolish The Disabled Persons Register which was administered by the Jobcentre (previously Employment Service) and under which people would be classified as Registered Disabled. This was the registration laid down by the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act of 1944 that obliged employers of more than 20 people to employ a quota of registered disabled people, a requirement that the DDA also abolished.
Post DDA, many local authorities have registers of people with disabilities, which help to deploy services where appropriate. So, people may now consider themselves to be registered disabled as they are on one of these registers, but they are not Registered Disabled as in the sense of the old national scheme.
Hope this helps.
