  • I think i'm in the right thread ...... ok here goes ...

I bought a used car in March from a franchised dealer .... one of the points i was told when the salesman was trying to sell the car was that it had 'tyre pressure monitors' which show up on the dash when you have a flat.

This never really came up until yesterday when i had the card serviced (at a different garage) i was asked 'did you realise that you had a flat tyre when you left the car here'? I asked them if it should have showed up on the dash display and was told no .... that model doesnt do that.

Do i have any possibility of recourse against the garage that sold the car? at the very least i would like the tyre pressure monitors installed.

    Thanks for advice

Can anyone tell me who I can complain to about Clydesdale Financial Services. I discovered 8 days ago that they continued to take money from my bank account through direct debit for the past 8 months even though I had paid off the full amount on time. I called them and they have said they will refund me the amount they took. I am very angry with them as I didn't even receive an apology from the person on the phone. I would appreciate any information on this subject.

Surely you have some responsibility here, if you were aware that you had paid the full amount why not cancel the DD. I can't believe it's taken 8 months to realise the error.

if i was told that £15 was given on goods if i sign up to coverplan - but later decide that coverplan is poor value and risky - can they withdraw the discount.

it wasnt said that i would get £15 if i stay in coverplan.

    any legal eagles here ?

I bought a Beko WMA1512 from Thames water online shopping service - Homeshop - which has now ceased trading. The machine was purchased 1/4/05 for £199 online using a credit card and installed (connected to water supply & waste via existing fittings) on,or about, 5/5/05 .A service call out was made after the machine failed to wash clothes to a reasonable standard - the water level remains low.The engineer said there was a part missing & on second visit fitted missing part. The machine is still not working properly - so far as I understand the engineer is saying that the water pressure is low - a curious observation since the pressure at kitchen tap is normal & the old Indesit machine worked well - although it did take a long time to fill. I thought washing machines had a sensor to detect when there is sufficient water inside to commence cycle.
Can I get a refund of cost of machine? Where do Istart to make a complaint - with Thames Water, Credit Card company. Am I out of time since it is now more than six months ?

HAS ANY ONE GOT ANY PLEASE
Hiya, im not sure if this is in the right place, so my apoligies if it is.

25/08 I took my leather jacket to have a pocket sewn (hole in pocket) and got a couple of the stictched small square patches sewn up a bit neater. I took it to a local leather little shop, (Lucci Leather) in town centre of Northampton, after ringing around.

They told me it would be ready fri 2/9 due to their deliveries. It may be the following fri 9/9 but they would call me.

I have the receipt that states repairs to be done and at the bottom is written 2 weeks.

5/9 No calls from them so i Drove into town, 10 miles, paid minimum 2 hr (£1.60) car park, to collect my jacket and its not ready. they tell me it will be in 9 or 10 sept. Go home.

14/9 Drove into town (only free day) paid car park, went to collect coat and still not ready- told will be back fri 16/9 - Waste of time.

17/9 Go into the shop and huray my coat was there. But Guess what they hadnt sewn the pocket - ( dont know what they were doing with it for 3 and half weeks )
Was told it would be fixed and it would be back the following week.
So i had to come home again, but winter is approaching and its getting cold.

(Its my only big winter coat and i had rung around different places to get advice on cost and time it would take to be mended, so i could get it done before it gets cold. Or so i had thought !)
28/9 Drove into Town, again my only day off during the week, and you guessed it, the coat still wasnt ready. Defently next week they told me. I wasnt very happy but had too much to do and have my assignment that has to be in, in 2 days so i didnt have the time or energy to argue.

    03/10 -
I was so ill, my mum had to drive 260 miles from plymouth to northampton at 4.00am as i was so ill, flue like symptoms, fever, aches, muscle spasms, cough, couldnt sleep, phoned dr at normed x2, I couldnt do anything for myself, let alone see to my son (2 1/2)
Im not saying i was ill because i didnt have a coat, but it didnt help the situation. It has cost me and my family a lot of money and time, i missed a week of college, which i have to catch up and my mum lost a weeks wages.
IAnd i still have to pay £65 they quoted in the beginning.
    Anyway...
fri 7/10 Went into town with mum and my little boy and went to see if my coat was ready..........
.........................Dont be silly............ its still not ready.
Apparently the couldnt find the correct colour lining and have had difficulty trying to find a colour that matches, although they have just found one now. Why didnt they tell me this before, (they took my tel no so they could ring me if needed. They have never phoned me.)
So they tell us it will be back fri 14/10, (im not confident) so we came home. My mum even offered to buy me another coat, but i declined, she couldnt afford it. But she left her coat at my flat, (I think on purpose) when she left and returned home to plymouth.

So what can i do ?
Do i have any rights regarding paying for this mess of a service i have recieved.
My coat, was bourght a few years ago, for approx £160, so i have to get it back.
Will i have to pay for the service ?
Recieve mess on answer machine on 14/10 to say my coat in now ready.

  • Hi Guys hope im not standing on anyones toes by posting in here, not really sure how to post

I ordered one of the dixons special offer Toshiba televisions on-line on saturday, i created a new account filling out all of my personal details along with my bank details. The order was accepted. I then checked my dixons on-line account on sunday morning, inside there was another order for a laptop for over a thousand pounds, with it was the details of the gentleman who had brought it, after further investigation in my dixons home area i found all my details had been replaced with his, including his bank details ( with the only the end four numbers showing) and his home address. i contacted dixons on the sales line as i was extremely worried. They said that they would get it rectified and assured me that the order was placed via their call centre and that my card had not been used.
Come monday morning i checked again and found his details and order still there and had not been removed. So i phoned up again and spoke to the same manager as on sunday who final had the dixons account closed.

What i am worried about,is the fact she was extremely rude to me yesterday and again today when i questioned what had happened to my data. She stated that it had been written over by the other gentlemans data and was caused by an error in the system. She had no intention of sending me a written explaintion about how it all happened until i phoned her again today, as they had no record of my details.

Im sure that this is a breach of the data protection act on their behalf for losing my data. ( i certainly know it is for the other person) they have said on the phone that there has been no breach of data protection on my behalf.
They have not even offered me an oppology for all the hassle i have gone through, having to contact them on numerous occations, which has costed me. They also cancelled my order for the TV ( which i kind of new was going to happen ). I have screen dumps of the other gentlemans data, (excluding his card details as i thought that not appropriate) ie address phone number, product order, just in case they tried to deny an of it.

Not really sure what to do know as, they are stating that they havent breached the data protection with my details. is there any thing i can do, or are they right? feel really annoyed at the way they have treated me through out the whole episode.

Cheers for reading, sorry it was a bit long winded!!
