Mad scientist, you wouldnt be entitled to a repair but you would be entitled to replacement like for like as long as the fault isnt wear and tear and isnt your fault. They might ask you to prove its a manu fault in which case you should get an independent report and send it to them. It might cost you a bit of money but you can claim that back if its found out to be a manufacturing fault.Corrina + brood!! :grouphug:0

Found out today about Red Letter Days going into administration. I've got 2 gift packs (as it was my 30th earlier this year) that I haven't used yet. One was paid for with a credit card and one with a Switch card. From what I heard on BBC news, credit card payments should be protected, but not Switch/Maestro/Delta as they come directly from your account.
Now my question is, how do I go about receiving a refund for both gifts? Do I have a leg to stand on or will they be getting away with my loved ones' hard-earned cash?
Advice appreciated!
Please help!
If your Switch card has the Visa logo on it you may have some comeback on your card issuer, you will need to contact your card supplier, SEE HEREDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Hi & thanks for your responses
Quick update:
I emailed RLD on behalf of my husband, and they said that at the moment all cc payments will be refunded, but they're currently considering what to do about switch payments. They told me to contact them again in September when they will have made a decision.
Hopefully, if they want to keep they're customers, they'll honour ALL payments. Fingers crossed.
Let me know if you hear anything new.
Thanks again.0 -
corey,
I found out from Trading Standards that because the fault was within the first 6 months it is upto the shop to prove it wasn't faulty when I bought it. They also say that I should be entitled to a repair and if that is too expensive I am entitled to a refund.0 -

A relative purchased a PC, monitor etc from a reputable company over the internet, the base unit arrived damaged, and the company arranged for a new base unit to be delivired. A week later it arrived by courier.
3 months later no one has come to collect the damaged one! What is the legal take on ownership of this? I have read somewhere, that after a period of time it legally becomes your property? But cant find it anywhere.....
Anyone care to help? Another relative is in desperate need of a PC, and this would be a brilliant oppportunity.
Thanks

This question may have emerged a number of times but here it is anyway. Saw an item priced wrong on the internet. If i bought it are the company obliged to sell me it for that price or can they demand full amount?

I don't know if this is in the right place but I am in need to some advice. I have posted about this problem about a month ago but the situation has not yet improved and I amnot sure where to turn to next.
You see, I booked a holiday online only to realise right after I had put my details in that I had booked room only and no flights! The web site was very misleading and I phoned right away to cancel. Couldn't get through, tried for an hour, left a message with another office. Phoned next morning, no sign of message or cancellation, money was taken. I was then told I had to pay a 30% fee to cancel even though I felt I was mislead. Told money would be refunded by end of week (29th July), that was a month ago now and i'm still waiting. I have sent a letter of complaint detailing all my issues with them, sent that two weeks ago and have had no reply. I have called twice and keep being told that the refund will be done shortly but it never comes. The company is totally useless, they hardly ever answer the phones and can't even be bothered to make up excuses for the lack of refund they just say they don't know why it hasn't been done.
I am at my wits end with all this and have no idea what my next move should be. I feel like I am about to lose all my money and that they will just get away with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -

I would try your local Citizens Advice Bureau for advice on your situation. If you think that the law has been broken you could also try your local Trading Standards. Both should be listed in your Yellow Pages.
The other route is to write to the Managing Director or Chief Executive of the company. The most effective way is to address it to them by name. You could do this by using a Search Engine (I like Google). This might give you the name. If it does'nt try looking for the Head Office number and phoning the switch board and asking them. I work for a very well known company and letters to the top tend to get dealt with very quickly!0 -
Thanks for the advice, I have just found out that they lost their ABTA cover as well, it seems that they are not a very good company at all. ABTA have put me in touch with trading standards so fingers crossed that might get me somewhere?0
