Sicander - please can you verify where you got this info. I agree that certain Peak cards are indeed MLC, but they are usually advertised as such. Noticed however that the Peak 60x SD cards that Morgan Computers are currently selling have MLC emblazoned across them.
The card we're talking about on this thread though is the 150x extreme SD (of which I've recently purchased), and I cannot see any mention of MLC associated with this card at all.

I see my thread has been closed and merged with this one, can i ask what is the point if the first post is not changed to mention the Amazon one as MSE'rs will have to read the whole thread to see the one i posted about.0

nah, mate, you don't have to read the whole thread when a new post is made - just go to "read first unread post" from the thread listing in a thread you are interested in and it takes you straight to the new post. New posts in a thread are in bold anyways so you can see there's new information on there0

Do you have any good recommendations which card/where to buy? I was gonna buy 1GB Kingston card from MyMemory but there are 2 - one is an Elite card, for £2 more, but I think it is just a bit faster read/write. Then I noticed the Peak one in this post, is that any good?GoofyGAT wrote:If you mean the Canon A620, MMC cards can be used - see the info under 'MEMORY CARD' at Canon. It seems like a really good camera so get the fastest [true] speed & best quality you can afford.

Please let us know where you came across this info? The tech specs of the card at Peak don't mention this. G0 -

Depending on your needs, you may want to consider getting a few smaller capacity memory cards. For instance, if you go on holiday & something goes wrong with one of your 128Mb cards, you only lose those pics, while still retaining the other cards' pics. Of course this is going to be a dearer & inconvenient method of buying memory & taking pics, but safer I suppose. G
**I haven't (yet) taken the plunge with memory cards. My 7mp camera has only 32Mb internal memory (which gives only a handfull of pics at highest settings), but I frequently save them to PC, not really requiring extra memory for the time being.0 -
Which camera do you have? I'm probably in the same situation as you with Canon A620 (7mp 32mb), in that I won't actually need that much really if I upload to my computer each time. But I just thought I'd get the 1GB card as a back-up in case I want to put more on there in high quality, or if away for a while and want to put video clips on, I'd be stuck with the memory provided. Saying that though the rechargeable batteries that I haven't probably wouldn;t last that long eithere hehe...GoofyGAT wrote:Sorry davidl, your guess is as good as mine**. Hopefully someone will come along to give you some good recommendations.

davidl, going by the comments in your last post, I reckon you should definitely purchase the external memory. As you rightly said, the extra memory is beneficial in many ways, & one can do a lot of experimenting, take longer video clips, etc.
Sooner or later you have to bite the bullet & go for something. I didn't want to recommend something I hadn't used before, but I'll stick by my earlier comment about buying the best you can afford (just don't go overboard - this is a money-saving site, you know).
Btw, I have the Samsung Digimax A7 (purchased cheekily for £99.99 a few months ago with info from this MSE post). It's nowhere near as good as your Canon, but it seemed excellent value & was all I could afford at the time. G0 -
There are lots of offers on - I ended up getting the 1GB kingston SD Ultra from OFTEK for abnout £28 inc. delivery, just seems a lot faster speeds for a few pounds more0
