I bought the Peak 1gb 150x sd card last week for just over £20 including postage. It is now down to £18.98 including 1st class delivery. I have tried it in our digital camera and it works fine. The company were good too - ordered Sunday evening and arrived Tuesday 1st class.

    Thanks for posting.
The read/write speeds in the specification are about half that of the Kingston Ultimate SD card which is rated at 133x. Hmm

Bigpockets have 1Gb, 60-speed SD at £16.98 inc. VAT and delivery here.

    Mel.

    Thanks for posting.
The write speed in the specification is 6MB/s - compared to the standard speed Viking SD card which writes at 5MB/s (33x). Hmm

Thanks, that has to be the fastest 1Gb card for the money. :D G

P.S. - I reckon you should start a fresh thread with appropriate title. It may get merged/deleted but worth a shot.

DABS are having a free delivery on all items this Bank Holiday weekend.

    :j :j :j
  • I think the free delivery is only for orders £199+ including VAT though.

Can MMC be used or I should I just buy SD? Most of them seem to be around £20 inc postage at the moment for 1GB cards

If you mean the Canon A620, MMC cards can be used - see the info under 'MEMORY CARD' at Canon. It seems like a really good camera so get the fastest [true] speed & best quality you can afford.

Please let us know where you came across this info? The tech specs of the card at Peak don't mention this. G

    Goofy cat -

You are right the one in your link does seem to be normal (and Peak do excellent normal SD cards) but one of the links above definitely said peak 1gb MLC when I put it in to my basket - (but I can not find it now!)

    - Just be careful if you see the letters MLC card - they are fine for cameras in my experience though not useful for faster things eg PDAs
