I am having alot of trouble applying for my student loan for when I start university in september. I don't have a passport so I need someone to co-sign who is a professional with a UK passport and someone I have known for two years, firstly I had my manager sign this but it was rejected as he was not a professional. I have phoned my LEA and they just keep telling me to find someone to sign, not actual help when you have no one to sign, I don't have a dentist, my doctor has left my practice, my college is closed for the summer. I don't know anyone, I'm really worried as without this loan I can't go to uni. Help!0

No I have never had a passport, if I apply for a passport now it wont be here until after I start university, I can fast track it, but I can't afford that as it would be £100 for the passport and £45 train fare to get to the nearest passport office.0

I just thought I'd let people know... I've been on hold to Student Finance Direct for an.... hour and 10 mins now.
They emailed me this morning (at 2AM?) to tell me I have outstanding evidence and to check what it was online... to go online to see that all boxes are ticked. ArghEntering competitions galore, not won anything yet!

Phone your LEA, its always much easier to get through to them than it is the SLC. I have never had to queue once when calling my LEA always get straight through. Plus they are likely to know more than the SLC as they are the ones that will be requesting the additional evidence.0

Thanks Helix, I would have done, but I actually went in to my LEA to deliver my papers, they checked them there and then... So I thought it must be something at "head office", or something, you know?
I did get through in the end just to tell me that it had been a computer error.Entering competitions galore, not won anything yet!

I am thinking about doing a masters. I am 23 years old, classed as single and have a 2 year old. I will get no help with my £4000 tution fees, no student loan, no grants, no childcare grant. zero. not a penny.0
