Not really much I can do here I'm afraid. Try giving that team a call, on 01325 215194, although I'm not sure that number is still in use. Should take you through directly to the team though.0

uYour new course is 3 years.
duration of the course + 1 year - any years done previously
so 3 + 1 - 3 = 1
You will only get funding for 1 year and it works backwards, so you won't get funding for Year 1 or Year 2 but you will Year 3. Not quite sure why you thought moving from a 4 year course to a brand new 3 year course would make it fine.
You won't get a bank loan. Or any other loan in fact. To get a commerical loan you need to show you would be able to pay it back, which without a job you can't do.
Any grants you get would need to be paid back should you drop out before the end of the year.
Thanks for your reply. I should have made it clear I wouldn't be starting the course fresh. Id be sidestepping into second year after I complete this second year. So therefore spending 4 years in total at the current university which is what I originally applied for. Would they reset the whole funding once I tell them I've changed course? You seem quite bitter in your responce only telling me what options aren't available and not giving advice on options that are. any reason for this? I do also have a job and work hard at it too.0 -
Paying off a student loan as a self employed individual
I have made some money through self employment since graduating. My last tax year however I declared a loss. That was up to April 2011 and things have been better since then. My question is that if I pay my loan off in full now, after declaring a loss in my tax return recently, is the Tax man going to come knocking, asking where the money has come from? Thanks0 -

Because Lokolo evidently believes that the truth is the best option. I suggest that you contact your university to see what funding they have available, as it appears you're going to have to self-fund your fees.0 -
Me again - sorry!
Just applying for my 3rd year finance, at the end it asked for the evidence like marriage certificate, childs birth certificate etc which is fine, but its also asking for compelling reasons evidence, surely I dont have to get my doctor to confirm this information again when I sent this in the 1st year do I?
I recieved full finance for years 1 and 2 as my compelling evidence was approved. Last year my funding was blocked due to the compelling reasons but once the reason was established this was all sorted without having to re-send the evidence again?

In general, I assume that if I've been asked to provide evidence of something, then I need to provide evidence of something.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I did ring and the advisor said it was just generic and that I didnt need to re-send, however each year I have had such a massive carry on to get anything sorted and both years I have to ring the complaints department and my first payments have been late because of the hassle, I just want an official answer as to whether you have to send evidence each year even though that 'issue' has already been sorted

I am being made redundant and last day in my job is 31 may 2013. I am going into full time higher education and planning to start my course in September. It looks like the deadline for student finance applications for September start is also 31 may. Can I apply before then even though I will still be employed, albeit only for a few days? Also I am 47 years old if this helps. Thanks.0

You can apply before this. Your own earned income is not actually assessed when you apply for your loan so your redundancy has no impact at all.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I'm divorced and my daughter lived with my ex-wife until they had a big fall-out at Xmas so she's now moved in with me, almost certainly permanently. She started a 3-year degree course at Reading uni last September and for 2012/13 she ended up with a full grant & loan which my ex sorted out. It's now down to me to organise her finances for 2013/14 and I know NOTHING about it all so can you give me a clue where I start?0
