Sounds to me that the SLC have done the right thing. You estmiated £200, then told them you paid £200. It then transpired you didn't, so in other words you've attempted fraud. Rightly so, your support is therefore terminated in accordance with Paragraph 5(3)(f) of The Education (Student Support) Regulations 2009.

SFE are well within their rights, and I'd have, and have previously, done the same.
• so what should i do?i still need to continue with my education. any chance if i appeal.

You have no appeal on this. You've attempted fraud, plain and simple. You should've thought about it before making knowingly false declarations.

I think the statement made by the person speaks for itself.

Putting something down that you know is not true is fraud. Plain and simple.
• can u plis people stop putting me down.i am not a fraudster, they did not charge me with anything.they did not even sent me a decision letter.it does not mean that i never paid child care.i definately did through out the year but failed to unerstand what i was supposed to put down on that time (for only 2 months).since then i have been doing everything correct.they have told me to appeal.at least i have admitted my mistake its not that i wanted to have money to spend because at the i have to pay it back.

Taiko has spoken. moddy is now an irredeemable fraudster having posted 6 lines on MSE ever.

There is no slcworker, moddy - she only ever posted 18 posts over two days in 2006.

Lately (since 2008) we have had Taiko, tantrums (it's my ball and I won't play anymore if ...) and immediate judgements on characters like yours.

He she or it has called you a fraudster - you can report that at abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
only just saw this post. how rude! taiko used to work for the SLC and knows more about their procedures than the rest of us combined. they used to be paid to make these decisions and they know what the outcome will be. often it isn't what people want to hear, but that doesn't change that it's reality.

i like the way you say lately as someone who wasn't even a site member at that point in time. taiko doesn't sugar coat but they have put vast amounts of their own time into helping people fight appeals and navigate the system. you know nothing about the SLC rules so how about you stay away from advice threads where you have nothing to add but insults.

• Husband may take early retirement in the next couple of months in doing so he may take a lump sum, be it about £2000.

Is this classed as income for purposes of supporting a student loan application?

If so which part of the form do I need to declare it on? think its non taxable too.

Advise appreciated.

Does anyone know if it's possible to speak to 'head office'at SLC directly? I have just rung SLC and spoke to a very pleasant person who put me on hold whilst they spoke to head office . I really want more than reassurance - I want , well, action....
