If I sent evidence in support of my application (my birth certificate had to be sent because I don't have a passport, don't know why they need to ID me when I already have ten grand of undergraduate loans with them and have been linked up via my my employers for payments!) last week (Thursday) and I know it got there on Friday (sent it registered) should I worry that it still isn't in the system and if I log in it still says that it is awaiting evidence?! I feel a bit worried it's not showing up but I don't see what else I can do. Is it just a case of it not being processed yet? I have no idea how long these things take!0

I can answer my own question, lol! After digging around some more, I've just found this in one of the help sections:
"Original birth certificates and adoption certificates take us around five weeks to process."
Well, no worries then, it's only been a week so shouldn't worry that it hasn't been updated!0 -

Billywill,
Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you. We've had a lot on this last week, so haven't had chance to sit down and do it quickly.
On a £57,000 income, you're looking at the following. This is also based on you living away from parents but outside London.
Contribution: (£34459 - £25001 / £5.86) + (£57000 - £34460 / £20.59)
= £1614 + £1094
= £2708 contribution
£2906 (Max Grant) - £2708 (Contribution) = £198 Maintenance grant entitlement
This would then make your loan entitlement £4745 (Max loan) - £198 = £4547
Apologies for not thanking sooner - thank you very much, I really appreciate all your help!
My maintainance total is quoted £4745 loan only, ith no mention of a grant included.
I don't know where I go next? Do I ring up SLC and request they re-evaluate? (I rang them once before and they simply refused that they could have got it wrong...).0 -
Looks like they've done you forced non-means tested so far. You should get a reassessment at some stage.0

Got a new problem.
So, my income as an independent is under the £7500 mark. I've asked my (estranged) parent to help support my application; he's self employed and his tax year ends in September, not April, plus his accountant hasn't completed his 08-09 yet, although my father himself has. Now what?! It seems that wherever I turn, I'm hitting brick walls and am terrified of being left to starve whilst everyone gets their finger out....0 -
Will having my student loan affect a mortgage application when I have finished uni?0

In the vast majority of case it won't, although you may find you can borrow slightly less if you're actually paying it back.0 -

Just one final question, sorry to keep bothering you Taiko!
I've rang the SLC quite a few times now, and the first lady said my household income was over £60k. Now clearly this isn't correct, which indicates that the application form must have been filled in wrong by my parents.
I rang again to ask how my parents would resubmit their information, and the guy (frustratingly incompetent - first adamantly claimed that you don't get a grant over £30k...) said I needed to e-mail the Formal Appeals email (formal_appeals@slc.co.uk). Is this correct? Surely there's an easier way to resubmit household income details, say if your situation changes?0 -
I have only just got round to completing student loans for 2 year, however one of my parents income has changed. Does anyone know how it work. They ask for last years p60 which will show them in work. Surely they take into account income as it is currently? The people on the phone are less than informative.0
