Unfortunately for you, you just have to keep pestering SFE.

Ring them up daily until it gets sorted.

Called them twice a day for 2 weeks now. Phone bill is sky high. No end in sight.

I was told today my situation may be unique and that is why they can't sort it out.

Ask the university for a letter which states you are in attendance, and send that to the SFE along with your name change details etc...
Send it recorded delivery so you know it has been received and have proof to show the SFE. Then at least no one can tell you they haven't received confirmation from the university

Also, they cannot do that on the HEI line.

HEI Helpline is usually for course mismatches and confirming attendance. This needs to be reinstated by the assessments team, which is not the same.

Get your university to send written confirmation to SFE that you are not withdrawn, and it should be sorted.

So the advice the Uni is getting from the HEI Helpline is totally wrong and the Uni should have sent a letter all along?

SFE have told me the only way id for the Uni to go through HEI.

This is a real mess and not of my making, I fear this will take weeks to sort out and we have no money.

You might be able to apply for a crisis loan, whilst this all gets sorted out. I think you have to apply at the job centre? You must get child benefit and child tax credit? Make sure you inform your Landlord of your situation aswell.

p.s. make sure you have a copy of any letters you send and you must send them recorded delivery.

I'm afraid so, they won't action anything without written confirmation I'm afraid. Whilst I will discuss cases with universities over the phone, I won't change things unless I get a letter or email to confirm. Covers my back then

The Uni have emailed 4 times now to email addresses HEI gave them

26th March, 31st March, 9th April and today but SF are denying any knowledge of receipt.

What email should they be sending them to.

I called SFE and insisted on speaking to a manager, after a few minutes arguing i was finally put through. She said she would investigate the the problem and get back to me this afternoon.
