Visa Electron Card - Ryanair flights

Thomas cook do cash passports which are visa electron cards, the euro and us$ ones are free to load, im not 100% sure about the sterling ones but if they're free to load then you could use one of them.

EntroPay Virtual VISA Cards are categorized, and branded by VISA as the 'VISA Classic Debit'.

Yep, works as a visa electron card. I've used it three times with ryanair.

Can also confirm it works as an Electron card, you can set it up in a couple of minutes, low minimum loading, £10, and the 4.95% fee works out at 50p on a tenner.

The Post Office one has a £50 minimum and takes 24 hours to activate, so Entropay wins every time for me.

I have used the Post Office travel Money card to book Ryanair flights and there is no booking fee. I found I may as well put £200 on the card at a time as anything less still costs the £3 loading fee.

To be honest I dont mind not using it for a while as most instant access savings accounts are less than 1% interest and some 0.10% . If I needed to I could always shop online as other stores accept it. I found it can take a day or two for a top to be credited to the card so Its nice to have some spare cash on there in case Ryanair have any special offers on.

After reading this post I have just booked two flights from Edinburgh to Dublin for an overnight stay in Dublin in July for me and my hubbie for £4 in total. I applied for a card from Entropay which was so quick and easy and loaded £10 (50p) charge onto it and then paid for my bargain flights with this. This saved me £20 which would have been charged if i had used my maestro card. Thanks for all the advice :beer:

Just need a room for one night so if amyone has any recommendations tat would be really helpful. :T

would you be able to use the card for other things if you wanted to use the spare money on it? If you want to load money on it does this happen instantly- how is it done. Thanks

If you go to the Entropay website within 5 minutes you can be booking flights with it it's that good and fast. You can also use the card just same as though you had one in your wallet. When you need to add funds just log into Entropay again and reload the card and away you go again.
It is very very simple to use.

last question hopefully - sorry to be dim - you just use a debit card then to transfer money instantly? And can you use up money in shops or whatever if sitting on your card?

Yes you can transfer money instantly to the entropay visa electron card from a credit card and then you can shop online just the same has though you had one in your hand. It is a virtual card so you can only shop online with it you do not physically get a plastic card. for every £10 you load you are charged 50p but much better than paying credit card fee's for flights and if you have any money left over just spend it on line. I would recommend it.
