[14:30 GBP/USD: Consolidating Losses, Raft of UK Data Next Week] London, June 12.

Cable is consolidating losses from an early Europe high of 1.6587 ahead of the 4pm BST London fix, having been weighed down by pre-weekend profit-taking on long positions. Sterling plumbed a 13-day low of 1.5803 at the start of this week, on the back of Labour"s European election woe. M&A-related demand for GBP (and GBP call/USD put options) helped fuel the ensuing surge to an 8-day high of 1.6622 (yesterday). 1.6600 was today"s Asian session top.

1.6330 was the two-day low plumbed shortly before the 12:30GMT disclosure of May"s US import price index, following German name selling. 1.6241 was Wednesday"s base (plumbed during the NY afternoon).

BoE Chief Economist Spencer Dale says that inflation targeting should be retained as a policy tool but that it needs "enhancing" (Reuters). The BoE MPC"s mandate is to keep annualized UK CPI inflation within 1.0% (plus/minus) of a 2.0% target level. UK inflation figures for May will be unveiled next Tuesday. Annualized CPI is forecast to fall to the 2.0% target level, from 2.3% in April.

    Hi,

Does anyone know when the best time to buy my currency will be?

Ive been watching the BBC News and even Sky News and both say the pound is doing great against the dollar. So its a really straight forward question - Should i buy now or wait...
