I know the valuation came in at our offer... anyone know whether underwriters often have a "problem" with the surveyor's valuation?? .
Dont think so Nick, our valuation came in exactly at the price we was paying too.
No problems took them about 5working days to get back to me once they had the report from the surveyor....0 -
Hi guys
My bf and I are also trying to get a mortgage with Natwest (sammyg, I have PM'd you but not sure if it sent hence this post).
Currently we are waiting (after a very long wait) for our offer to come in the post. Could anyone advise me please; have Natwest asked anyone for proof of where your deposit has come from?
Also, I've paid them the arrangement fee on Friday, they say the next stage is for to wait for our "offer of a loan" documents in the post. Is this how it happened for you guys.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Many many thanks0 -
An update from me aswell. We recieved a text message saying the valuation was approved and the offer was in the post. Suprisingly it arrived in that day's post and Im happy to say the valuation was for the amount we offered and they are happy to give us a mortgage!
So in all it was around 5 weeks from start until I had the offer in my hands, not too great but we got there in the end. We had similar problems to sinbin with an unhelpful branch mortgage advisor and always requiring something else when calling them. The call centre were very helpful however.
We've signed the forms and passed them on to our solicitor, so just waiting for the searches and then hopefully we can exchange! :T0 -

Hi its normally the solicitor that checks you have the deposit ammount & you then advise them where the monies have come from , show bank statments etc, if the money is coming as a family loan you advise your solicitor who then will need a letter from the family member who is gifting the money. I am my wife have applied for mortgage on Friday 21/01/2011. My mortgage adviser has gone through the application and the application was reffered. my credit scoring bit has passed but still the application was refered. mortgage adviser has said that 50% applications do get reffered but in your case i do not know why are application has been reffered as your credit score has passed and you have more then enough money for mortgage.I am putting down 10% for my deposit and asking for 62,000 mortgage.
i was full time till December 2010 but due to my child disability i went part time which has made huge impackt on my salary but despite that the mortgage calculator has gone though all the application and all was done but at the very last page it was refered.i was advised to wait between Monday to Tuesday . I am very impatient person and i am worrying about my application.
1.i am German national and my wife is Pakistan national, has it got to do with my wife's being Pakistani?
2.at this precise time of moment I do not have 10% deposit in my account as i am waiting for my salary to come through. is that a problem?
2. last month in December i had to withdraw a huge amount of money out of my account for house maintenance. is that a problem ?
what do they exactly check on the reffered application ? is it true that they check out goings and incoming? is cash withdrawals counts as out goings or they consider the bills , standing orders and direct debits as outgoings?
your reply will be much appreciated0
