    Congratulations!

I just wish Natwest were as efficient in my case. We're now almost 3 weeks from when I signed the forms and after many mistakes they have finally instructed the valuation yesterday.

Almost everything has gone wrong, they misread our payslips, lost my card details so had to request them again and then when they had them reckoned we'd not paid even though they had taken the money out. Its been pure incompetence.

Congratulations on your offer - great news! So could the sewerage issue still affect it even though you have the offer? Did the issue come up in the survey?

I hope it all goes well! Do let me know - fingers crossed for you.

Now the mortgage is out the way I can start worrying about other things LOL - i'm such a stresser!!!

We spent a fortune on some fabulous furniture on the weekend - stupid I know - considering we havent exchanged yet - but i cant see any problems at the moment! And i guess we'll need furniture where ever we buy!!!!

Awh I'm sorry - how stressful for you. I'm so glad they have finally instructed the valuation for you.

Thinking about it - I did phone them nearly everyday and on one day they said they just needed out solicitor details - which I gave them - but I had given the details at the beginning. So its a good job I did keep calling. With the valuation fee I gave them permission to take it straight out our bank account as we bank with Natwest so avoided the card thing!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Do let me know how you get on!

  • Hi Lucy,

The issue with the sewerage is that welsh water have not adopted the pumping station, the ouse is new on a new road, the sewage has to be pumped up to the top main road. there were problems in the past with it and all the houses in the street had to foot the bill, so we would be jointly responsible for the pumping station too. they all paid 1500 when it broke 2 years ago, its now fixed. we are happy to know we would foot the bill for any future problems. but the solicitor didnt tell us he had to tell the bank anbout this and only decided to do this on monday, so we have to wait to see if the underwriters can make the decision on whether it does not effect the value of the house, if they decide it does it has to go back to the valuers, and who knows how long that may take.

We brought a washing machine and some stff on sat then found this out on monday. Fingers crossed its still ok. just have to wait and see.

  • Good news lucy.
The bank came back to us today and said everything is ok, we can still have the mortgage.
I am going to put our 10% down today, as the property is up with an auction company. we will have the house in 28 days then,
    I'm so excited.

    Hi Sam!

Fantastic news - very pleased for you!!

Lets keep our fingers crossed for a smooth ride to moving in now!

I'm going to see our solicitors tomorrow to ask her to talk us through the process as neither me or my husband have a clue! We have done everything we can and our solicitors are really good - but they are still waiting for documents from the sellers solicitors who seem to be a bit crap. So a little annoying waiting (and i'm definately not good at that!).
The sellers themselves are really nice and want to get things moving so fingers crossed!

If it is any consolation at all I know EXACTLY how you feel!!!

One thing i would say is dont be afraid to give them a ring with your reference number - they were always so nice and helpful. Just ask them for an update as to where you are. They told me the decision would be made by 5pm the next day - and I phoned back 5pm the next day and they told me it was agreed - so at least I knew and didnt have to wait for the post everyday!!!

Good luck - thinking of you and do let me know how you get on!
