More Children?

Even though all my children are at school I don't 'work'. My DH and I have just felt that if I worked as well the work/ life balance for us would be a nightmare. And actually I'm very fulfilled being 'just a mum'.
I do play the bass guitar and walk the dog and potter around and I generally enjoy that. Have also been doing some voluntary work going into schools and presenting, which is ok but I sometimes find it a bit stressful when it starts to fill up my week...
All your comments have certainly made me think..... :rolleyes:0 -
Hi Frankie
You've obviously thought it all thru, so good luck if you decide to go for it! My older 3 were 12,10 & 7 when the 4th arrived (surprise) and I was 35.
We were worried about the effect on the others/family mobility but it has been great. The others were entranced by this new brother & at weekends he was borne off to be played with in one of their bedrooms and only returned to me for feeding. He's benefitted from lots of carers and they have learnt parenting skills ahead of time.
The only downside is for your body - be warned that as you get older gravity is more effective and everything ends up nearer the floor as a result!
All the best,

Frankie,
if this is something you both want - and feel that you are able to do it - in terms of emotional wellbeing, health, and space in your home - then just do it.
I am very green with envy - particularly in the light of 'all' the big familes on here. I'd love more children. We currently have two, who were adopted, as we were unable to have any ourselves. I'd love more, and DH is not adverse to the idea, but the 'outer' family are dead against it, and so we'd never get through the adoption panel.
Wish you the best of luck, in what ever you decide.

As a mother of 7, I'm inclined to say, why not?
Though, as you rightly pointed out the age gap, and your other children have had the benefits of siblings nearer in age, you maybe having more than one more LOL.
If you both want more, what's stopping you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Im 2nd oldest of seven. I have 4 kids aged 12, 10, 3 and 3. Id say go for it if you can manage it. I love having lots of family now, we are close, and its great that my mum and my sisters are my best friends. :T My own kids play really well together despite the age gap between the older two and the twins. :j0
