More Children?

Hi,
Not really looking for advice ( I don't think anyway!!) but just peoples thoughts.
We hav 4 children and though I have previously wanted more my DH hasn't so I thought we'd got to the point where that was it.......but on sunday night my DH tells me he'd quite like another couple
Our 4 children are 12, 11, 8 and 7. I'm 32, DH is 33. I don't work and my DH earns well above the average wage so money would not be a problem....
I guess my quandry is...am I too old? Is the age gap too large? Are we crazy to even contemplate it?
I'm not against the idea, though I know there are going to be people who will have strong views against us having more children ( and won't be afraid to say so!
)
What do you guys think????

You're far from too old, I was nearly 37 when I had DD2. If you have the money and the space to put them and you think you could cope then have as many as you like! It's the ones who have zillions of kids and leave the rest of the country to support them that I have a problem with. I've always believed that you should only have as many as you can afford. That's why there are huge gaps between my three.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

If you both want more and can afford more, then go for it. I certainly don't think you're too old; some women are having their first in their mid/late thirties. I wouldn't worry about the age gap. Good luck! The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

If I had 4 healthy children and at least one of each sex, I would quit while I was ahead.
A close friend has just had her fifth, completely understandable as the 4 were from a previous marriage. Her 4 were 16, 14, 12 & 8, she and the kids had an excellent relationship with her first husband (their Dad) and she thought it was all going to be plain sailing. In the event she had a rotten pregnancy always being taken in and out of hospital and ended up having a c-section. The baby has had numerous health problems and so she has not been able to leave him with anyone at all. I'm not saying she regrets it in any way but life has certainly not turned out as she planned.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. the more the merrier, we would have loved more kids we have 2 already but unfortunatley as our daughter has special needs and various health problems we decided best not to have any more. If your happy then have more babies who cares about the age gap the other kids would love some new siblings and your definately not too old. So off you go and makes some babies! Good luck.0

I had my third child when I was 33, my older two were 9 and 7 at the time. I found the experience much more enjoyable than when I had a toddler and a baby, as the older two could help and be more involved.0

If you are healthy and can cope mentaly and physicaly with 5 kids. Then it's up to you.I find 2 hard at times. 32 isn't old, some women havn't even had their first at that age.Barclaycard 3800

If you feel that you can cope and can afford it, go for it. Being a mum and Dad is one of the greatest professions in the world amd the most under rated.

Hi
I would say no your not too old - unless you feel it!. Can you cope with more, can you afford it and do you you really want more if the answer is yes then do what you want. As for the age gap well life isn't perfect and not everyone has 2 1/2 yrs between their kids I know plenty of people with big age gaps between children, some autumn crocuses and some for second relationships and some just because that's the way it happened. You will have a ready made baby sitter soon in the 12 year old!!
The only question I would think about if you answer yes to everything else is soemthing a woman I used to work with said once when i asked if she wanted more children - on no because I have just got them to the age were I can take them out for a meal and things and they don't crawl off under the table.0 -
you deffo arent too old!
you can afford it
you both want more
i say go for it : )
as for the gaps some siblings with only a few yrs between them can fight like cat and dog and others with a large gap can get on really well
there are 6 yrs between me and my sister and we get on much better than she and my middle sister do (2 yrs gap) esp now we both have children
also my own 2 children are 6 yrs apart and really close too : ) and if we have another there will be at least 6 yr gap again
dont care what other people think / say ; ) they arent living your life
and they say that after 4 you dont notice 1 more ; )0
