Parkin in a disabled bay. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!! Promise you will not do it again!!!

They have to prove that YOU were the driver! If they can not then you do not have to pay!! If they have photographic evidence that YOU PARKED the vehicle in that bay then I am Afraid you are stuffed!!!!

    Utter codswallop!

The op has not been fined. David Lloyd's disabled bays are nowt more than a courtesy gesture and photographic evidence notwithstanding, there is a snowball's chance in hell of this ever seeing a court.

BTW, photo evidence is the lowest thing in the evidential food chain and even if it was accepted, it would be next to useless without other procedural proof that a private parking company almost certainly will be unable to provide.

The OP didn't "get" anything except a worthless piece of paper and some nasty comments.

If people are really bothered then lobby David Lloyd Clubs to organise some proper manageable solution that will accommodate disabled visitors

Save some of your anger for the company trying to extort money from people using the car park.

So its okay for lazy bums to park in disabled badge holders.
Disabled people have a difficult enough life as it is without lazy bums, one day they may become disabled and see how life is easy for them

He did the crime now he must pay

Nope - Very few folk wil disagree that they are entitled to accessable parking.

    But.

Disabled drivers are amongst the prime targets of the PPC scammers and are often ticketed mercilessly for the most miniscule breaches of the PPC's "rules" - Again, many simply are quite ignorant about the non-status of private disabled spaces and pay-up without a hoot. Its a nice earner for the PPC's

Read down this forum, you will find quite a few examples of folk at their wits end when a disabled driver who can ill-afford it has been hit by these predators!

No "crime" has been comitted either.

    .

    Should that not read Coddswallop????:rotfl:

Just to play Devils Advocate again please read the following, section 57

    http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200708/cmselect/cmtran/475/47506.htm

It has been suggested to me that if one relys on a precedent, one can only rely on the exact circumstances surrounding that precedent and a subsequent Act of Parliament could be argued to discount that precedent without overturning it??

As I have said before long held beliefs have to be challenged to re-inforce their validity! I hope this precedent still holds true but the there seems to be a Parliament led challenge to this!!!

Its time the laws were changed and these charges were fully enforceable. there is no excuse to park in a disabled bay. They knew they were wrong if they do feel bad they should pay the fine.

Since that document is almost a year old they are obviously not rushing into things, but no surprise there tbh.

Interesting that section 57 talks about the failure to enforce the use of bays.
I assume that owners of car parks would say that they are enforcing their use by means of signage and "fines" however as this enforcement appears to have no legal standing perhaps Ministers should be encouraging or even legislating for better enforcement measures?

And line the pockets of some cowboy company?

If the OP feels that guilty then by all means donate the money to charity

Why? So exploitative parasites like the PPCs can prey on some of the most put-upon members of our society with alacrity?

The laws are being changed in Scotland just now - By this time next year, the new regs will be in force but it has been made pretty clear that all the owners of private parking will have to repaint and resize their disabled bays correctly, sort out sinage and negotiate access for legally regulated patrollers to issue tickets.

The current crop of PPCs will not be getting a look-in on this one!

Meaningless. The current sutuation cannot be considered as "policing" in any way.
