So its okay for lazy bums to park in disabled badge holders. Get told off or having huge signs up, dont stop lazy bums parking in blue badge spaces. Only way is to fine them, he got what he deseves. If they dont pay I hope the company terminates his membership, serves them right

Disabled people have a difficult enough life as it is without lazy bums, one day they may become disabled and see how life is easy for them

He did the crime now he must pay
He is actually a she and not a bit lazy nor has a fat !!!! thank you very much i posted on a site that is meant to help save people money not take the moral high ground evaryone deserves a second chance.

    This really is simple...
Should the OP have parked there? NO

Does he/she have to pay? NO

It's an unenforcable invoice, IT IS NOT A FINE

The chances of it ever going to court are very slim to none & the PPC know that.

Ignore & do not contact them, continue to ignore any/all of the following meaningless paperwork. They will go away :)

Oh, & don't park in disabled bays.

The Department is also supporting 'Baywatch', a coalition of the major supermarkets and disability organisations (including the Disabled Drivers' Association, Disabled Drivers' Motor Club and the British Polio Fellowship). The campaign is committed to encouraging more protection of disabled persons' parking bays in retail car parks from abuse by non-disabled drivers.
Finally, Part 3 of The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 requires service providers to take reasonable steps to ensure that disabled people do not find it impossible, or unreasonably difficult, to enjoy the service on the same basis as non-disabled people. This will have implications for car park operators, who may have to demonstrate that as well as marking out disabled persons' parking spaces, they have taken reasonable steps to ensure that they are available to disabled people.

This suggests that the DFT is supporting the penalisation of drivers who park in these spaces, does it not?

the precedent set 94 years ago would not be overturned but it may be regarded as not applicable where the The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 may have some bearing:confused: Its just a point of view.

It is always good to try and put holes in a long held belief as it will re-inforce its position if proved to still stand. No?

It suggests to me that someone would like car park owners and operators to have a realistic view of how to support and not disadvantage disabled drivers.

Sticking up a sign and employing illegal tactics does not fall into this category.

I would be interested to know of systems that provide for disabled drivers and how they work.

If owners of car parks really wanted to ensure that their disabled customers were not disadvantaged then they would do something constructive.
Sadly many wont as I suspect a sensible solution would cost them more money than most are willing to invest.

    Precisely!

As I understand the woefully inadequate DDA it is reliant on victims directly taking action against those responsible. The only responsibility here lies with the landowner who quite frankly don't care. It can be nothing to do with some passing individual.

landowners start taking some responsibility and stop putting these matters in the hands of little more than crooks!

Quite how anyone thinks it so much a greater transgression to use a disabled space than to act in the criminal and threatening way ppcs do thousands of times a day is beyond me.

Despite my agreement with the comments on her actions - this thread has made me consider parking in disabled bays on private car parks as a matter of course!!!

    You pious fools.

As I typed an earlier post I thought this as well.

If everyone did it would it then highlight the problem for disabled drivers and encourage/force owners to actually provide a proper facility?

I am seriously now toying with this idea

I would just like to add one thing, thanks for all the relevant replies on the issue I
really appreciate the time taken for people to add a reply. I also knew I would get the comments from people who basically just like a good moan its no wonder the country is in the state its in with these kinds of people and their do gooder opinions. Thanks again for the advice given re the rip off merchants issueing these parking tickets. I would gladly pay if David lloyd group gave the money to a good cause but when im basically being ripped off by rouges its not on, thanks again.I really appreciate it.
