From what I understand- cookie stuffing- the person who did that was trying to get money from people by posting a link so that when clicked, any traffic to the site and/or? sales she would get commission on. Not OK.
The original poster? did anything get sorted? did you have the return addy on the back? know the "once its in the system" rule and its a bit like trying to find a sales person on a good day to get the parcel back (remember my mum trying to get back a letter she had posted to the post box by mistake- I was only 4 but thats how anxious she was!- she got it back with a "I'm not supposed to do this..." from the postie. Hope you got it sorted, the PO assistant may have been doing her job, but its a bit like trying to crack a walnut with a sledge hammer- there are nicer (and more productive!) ways of doing things!0 -
There was a news item a while ago that said due to the way they are structured some post offices lose about £9 per customer, so make no wonder they are rude.
There does seem to be a tendency in some post offices to have terrible staff, that said some of the customers they have to put up with I know I wouldn't stay civil.
sorry, I disagree - many businesses not just the PO are struggling as well we all know, but that doesn't make it ok for staff to be downright rude to customers. And if, like many of us in customer facing roles, they get the odd 'difficult' customer, that doesn't give them the excuse to be horrid to the next person who happens to go to their window. IF I had been a difficult customer (and I say 'if', because as you can tell from my 1st post, I wasn't), then there are ways and means of dealing with this - being rude and aggressive is not one of them. Phew! Rant over!! :A0 -

well I've contacted the buyer to let her know that I'm an idiot - I've still got her item here so I'm waiting for her to let me know that she's ok to send that one back or refuse it and I can send hers. I've offered to reimburse her for postage too incase she has to pay to return it to me. I'm annoyed with myself for being so dim, but it's not the end of the world - it was a relatively cheap item.

The women in the post office in the town were i work was really rude to me last week, its the main post office has 8 counters yet they normally only 2 open and they closed the other THREE post offices in the town. SO its always busy
I asked for proof of posting for 6 items i was sending and her response, I dont have time for that look at the que, the best i can do is give you areceipt for them shows you posted them, then gave me 1 receipt for 4 items (weighed the same) and 1 receipt for the others (Weighed the same)
She then spent 5 mins trying to sell me home, contents, life and whatever else they sell!!
I was soo annoyed and thought her attitude was appalling
when i got back to work and told my colleague the same women did it too her too the week before.0 -
Wow I think I must be really lucky. I use 3 different post offices to send my ebay items (depends on if i'm at home or at work to which I use) and I've never had a problem with the post office staff. Yes it can get annoying when they try and sell you home/car/life insurance but they are just doing their job.
There is however no excuse for the staff being rude. Hope you get it sorted OP.Operation House Move £11993.60/£25000 (47% achieved)

I thought they had to give you proof of postage if you asked for it, otherwise how could you make a claim for lost or damaged items? You should definitley complain and at the least word will come down to the staff that they have to do it.0
