Ive left my Post Office nearly in tears before (I was hormonally pregnant at the time), but even so - they were just so rude & still are.
I intervened once when there was a poor old guy at the front of the queue trying to draw his pension. He couldnt get the card machine to work & it was so obvious that he didnt have a clue how to do it - was probably used to drawing out cash but since things changed he had to draw it out on a card. The guy behind the counter was huffing & puffing & then started to talk about him to the other people in the queue. I ended up going to the front & helping him. Together we worked it out without so much as a Thank you from the cashier.
I hate going to the local Post Office when I have more then 1 parcel to take & now opt for the larger one in town. I do wonder whether they have planted these people in the local post offices so that no one will complain when they later get closed down!0 -
I had an issue with a woman at our local post office but it was nothing to do with ebay.
I cashed my money there every 2 weeks and the problem I had was this was paid in my married name but the only thing I had with that was my marriage certificate. So I had to take that over every time and after a while she started getting annoyed about it. I was really trying to sort it though, I tried to open a joint account with my Husband but the bank said they had to send our marriage certificate away for security checks as its an American certificate so has security protection on it. Well I never heard back from them did I, so I carried on taking my marriage cert with me. I tried to get the money paid into my bank and it was never done. They told me to try and open a post office account, so I tried numerous times to do that, once even going to the place to sort it but I stupidly gave the wrong info which I didnt realise until afterwards! Silly me.
In the end she got really snotty with me and every time I went in if I got her she would have something to say or some not nice comment said to the other women behind the counter and I just got sick of it all. It was quite upsetting at the time and made me nervous everytime I had to go there.
I now dont have to use the post office unless I post an item or need a card, so I avoid her now and stand in the queue hoping I dont get her! :rotfl:Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -

The observant amongst you will note jane has imbedded a shopping cookie in OP's quoted text.
Hmm.. the first time I loaded the page I saw something fail to load (ie red x) on janeinlondon's post (just before the emoticon) but when I refreshed the page it was gone, was that the cookie?
Does this now mean I have to clear my cookies everytime i visit MSE because of things like that?
Very naughty, if it's proven why isn't he/she banned??
Off to clear cookies.....Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
Hmmm, it seems we have stumbled upon some awful PO staff epidemic!!!
Anyway, I have been back!!! I went in and there was no queue so I went straight up to the same woman's window and told her I did not appreciate how she had spoken to me earlier, and that she really shouldn't have a customer facing job when she clearly couldn't bear people. I also told her I'd put in a formal complaint through the PO (which I did earlier, on the phone) then walked away. She just gaped at me. It was only when I got outside that I realised she might not have remembered who I was (had my hair tied up the first time, down the second!!!!) :rotfl:
oh well, I feel better!!!! thanks for the advice everyone!!!! x0 -

There was a news item a while ago that said due to the way they are structured some post offices lose about £9 per customer, so make no wonder they are rude.
There does seem to be a tendency in some post offices to have terrible staff, that said some of the customers they have to put up with I know I wouldn't stay civil..0
