Doomcow you need to build up to it and yes walk as much as posible then do a bit of running and just try and increase your running distance. I couldn't even run a mile this time last year...its possible honestly!

Sal - re the biggest loser... mike was lovely wasn't he... but i can imagine he would be loose skin nekkid!

There was loads of loose skin on a lot of them TBH... jerry and estella looked a bit too skinny, but i think you do struggle with skin elasticity and when you are over say 50 years....

They could have picked some more flattering clothes for some of them to disguise saggy arms...

Doomcow, I'm not a runner but from what i've gathered when the others are talking, you should start by walking fast and build up to running. Your shins hurt cos you've developed shin splints.

    Well done on 1k anyway - i can't run 100 yrds!!

thanks all! yeah well i do a 2 mile walk most lunches at work when the weather permits, do it in about 35mins or so which i aint think is too bad. all the managers at my place do like a 6mile jog at work and i guess thats my goal to do something similar.

yeah ok, i'll start walking even more - i do walk fast tho, but im a long way from my walk of the west highland way a few years ago.

what the hell is shin splints?
