Other than the full weight of UK law.

Paypal being the only "safe" way to pay for anything is a marketing myth put about by the owners of Paypal.

    HTH.

By all means use cheques or postal orders, after all there will always be some happy to risk it.

I am not trying to be aggressive here I just think you misunderstand what protection means. By all means send special delivery (and pay £4.80 for the privelege) but all that shows is that seller got your money, that is not the protection I was talking about. What if they don't send your goods? Ebay do not have any buyer protection for payment methods apart from paypal, so you get no goods, or maybe faulty ones and what then? You are basically left persuing your seller via through small claims.

A seller that is too dim to realise that he looks dodgy by breaking rules, may well be too dim to send your item correctly or to realise he remains responsible for you getting the correct item.

sorry but if your that paranoid about if hes going to send your item or if its in good condition then i would advise you not to use ebay and use a high street store and have a proper guarentee , it may just be a mistake with the seller or a problem with his paypal ,
dont think he deserves to be called dim from you as you have probally never met him or know of him !!!!

is any1 else with me on this one !

i have just read your other posts and looking at them ( any1 reading this thread id advise to read his other posts ) as its a regular conversation you seem to complain a lot about other sellers about lots and lots or different things regarding ebay , so you are obviously are one of the ones who give ebay buyers a bad name !!!!

Can I just ask, Debs2327, as a matter of interest, what course of action you would take if, having paid by postal order or cheque, your item either didn't arrive or was SNAD and the seller refused to refund you?

its ebay you take risks but never happened as times when its happened me and the seller has aggreed refund or if applicable then claim lost money from special delivery as done before , just dont think theres any need to call sellers names or cause problems for someone over simple things thats all

Spot on! i would much rather use the legal system to get my money back from a seller on ebay, very few are sophisticated enough con men to be using false addresses and i am sure most people would be more worried about getting a ccj against their name than an ebay strike, also if the person doesn't pay me after getting a ccj i can employ bailiffs to get my money back!

And to think, ebay/paypal have you thinking you have no protection without them!!
