An interesting find. This means I could save some money by not insuring the Volvo, and just adding it as a temporary additional vehicle on my main policy whenever I need to drive or tax it.
That said, if he's just moved the van then an offence may have been committed.0 -

Very correct but Police telephone centre man i spoke to said they prefer to catch him red handed. ????
With regards to the explanation given as uninsured car being allowed to be parked on the road, you may wish to check your own local Police dept for general clarification or perhaps if someone here knows as well,.
For reason, i think it is worth double checking what i have been told. I intend to make a general enquiry advise call in a few days time so as to be clear on this aspect. This would be done without reference to anybody0 -
It's not an issue for me at the moment, the Volvo also does the weekly Tesco run in order to keep it running and to door dings off the good cars. There are far too many inconsiderate people these days who let their kids smash their doors into yours, however if money gets much tighter (or some other uninsured scumbag reduces our no-claims bonus even further) it's something I'll be considering then.0

Dave I sell them and the road risk only policies are renowned for trying to avoid paying claims. Like I said they will ask proof you are a trader etc.
If you have a proper garage premises you will have a different type of policy that includes "Internal Risks" eg things like tools cover etc. These are completely different as they deal with different types of traders and would not normally ask for proof you are a trader.0 -

You must sell duff policies from usless ins companies then, my insurer has never asked to see proof of anything."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Far from it Dave, I frequently come accros other peoples clients who have had claims declined due to not being able to prove they are a trader, its very common.
Which Insurer are you with?0 -
I very much doubt if an insurance company would just pay out just like that without asking to see proof of trade etc.
Certainly not in this age0 -

If they dont care and wont give hassle during claim, then it's all good to go.
Though i very much doubt if they just wish to dish out and dish out without checking.
