Well the rain has well and trully landed here. Think it's more a storm coming.

Noahspennilessmum - Just wanted to how good that was and trully describes how we should be thankful for what we have. No matter what is delt to us there is beauty in anything and to let got relax and enjoy what we have or we will miss all the good things. Thanks for sharing that wonderful poem xxx

Hi all. Had a quiet day today, walked the doggies with my friend and her dog first thing, missed the rain :) Then tackled my ironing pile, I was recently lent a bundle of maternity clothes which I have washed and hence and extra ironing than usual, boooo!! All done now though, yay!!

Gonna pick my knitting back up in a minute, I'm now on my teddys head, think its pretty much done correctly, cant wait to finish him off and see how he looks... or she!!

I took some rump steak out of the freezer yesterday for yesterdays dinner but we didnt have it in the end so I was going to cook it for tonight. Just a little unsure of it as since it has defrosted it has a slight smell to it, dont think its necessarily an 'off' smell but its putting me off a bit :( Dont want to waste it though. I am sure I froze it within a day or 2 of buying it and well within date so it should be ok!!

Not planned anything now for today bar sitting down with a cuppa :) xx

Oh Noah's Mum what lovely words, do you know who wrote it? You're right we should stop and count our blessings and it seems that you are blessed having Noah and he having a wonderful Mum like you.
That has quite touched me. x

Haribo - your kids never watch a documentary?

FOR THE RECORD Baby TV is not a replacement for mum, it is another way of helping a baby grow, and it is not suggested anywhere, not even on Baby TV that is all that they do - watch TV. Wow - programmes that are designed to help babies. Me letting little bear watch them means I am the spawn of Satan.

I will continue to have little bear watch Ceebeebies, and DVDs of things that are recommended for development. I will continue to have him play with me while the radio is on. I will continue to do my best to help his development, including things that have been learned from TV.

    Afternoon all,

Didn't get here yesterday, was so tired when I came back from Cork that I went to bed at 9pm!

Aussie....hope that you find out what OH's problem is soon, hate waiting for results.

NPM...liked that Holland poem...the story of many a life.

nic...you will be only about 10 miles from me when you pass Maynooth on way west...if you have time perhaps we could meet in Maynooth for coffee??

Sorry that so many people are not feeling well, also that so many people are still MIA, please come back.

DD4 has her final exams starting to-morrow....hope that it all goes well for her as she has worked very hard....seems as if there are very few jobs out there anyway so not sure if she is going to go back to the civil service while she looks, she is very up-tight at present so asking no questions!

Roast lamb for dinner, with spinach, baked spuds and rhubarb and ice cream for pudding, we'll eat about 6 I think.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to any newbies, congratulations to all who are celebrating.

Sybil, I don't quite know what to say to this post. I happen to dislike the idea of a television channel designed for young babies. I thought it was ok to voice my opinion on here and say so and it was not a personal comment about you. And who said you were the spawn of Satan? Of course my children watch documentaries and their fair share of rubbish it has to be said but I fail to see what that has to do with what I posted last night when I was referring to young babies.

Had a lovely walk on the Island this afternoon. The girls had a ball when we found an old den on the beach made out of the hull of an old boat with a rope swing outside. Ate our picnic in a lovely little bay watching the lambs and baby rabbits and listening to a cuckoo. Found lots of blackthorn trees so that's the sloe gin sorted out this year. Dtwins are making a seashell wind chime for the garden.
Picked some wild mint to make tea with after dinner of HM burgers and salad.

Good luck to Marie's DD and Pink's DS1 for tommorrow.

    Haribo x

I'm all for watching a Documentary I love them as did my kids, I just wouldn't want to put a baby in front of a tv.
Dinner was a success, DH would agree if I woke him up.
MEANMARIE, Good luck wishes for your DD4 with her exams tomorrow.

    Hello everyone :hello:

I've been MIA for a few days, all sorts going on here mainly good though.

The adoption papers should go in next week but his Social Worker is off sick and DS and DIL have been told they have to wait for her to come back as she has info needed to go on papers.
He is 15mths old and walking now and he gives lovely cuddles:A

Havent read through yet will do in a bit, but hope you are all ok :D

Better go get sandwiches done else OH will accuse me of starving him yet again

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:

DH and I have just returned from a lovely weekend, attending the wedding of an old school friend of mine. There was a choir made up of people that she sang with at uni and those that she sings with now and they really led the service. However, I was a jibbering wreck for most of the service as it was all so beautiful. I mean REALLY beautiful.

Anyway, as we've been away, this means that the house needs a sort out. I've got paperwork to put away. A thank you letter has been written for my friend's parents, but I now have to work out WHERE I put those stamps.....

We stayed overnight at the hotel where the reception was held, so DH and I made sure that we filled up on the fry up! However, I think that our supper may well now be pasta with sauce. So original, but I haven't had chance to get anything out of the freezer to defrost.

I've also got to think about my immenent attack on Mr T's tomorrow. I got a till spit for if I spend £40 then I get £6 off. :j :j As we're going camping over half term, I'll be able to stock up on bits and pieces to help us through that.

    Take care all

I have never said that I am a good mother.

However, I will stand by my opinion that Baby TV has a lot to offer, even to babies of 10 weeks. What exactly do you think is on it? Actually it is full of things designed to stimulate young minds in chunks that they can cope with.

Obviously I am a bad person to think that it would be good for little bear to be exposed to a form of stimulus that has a lot of research behind it.

I am even worse - sometimes he listens to the radio. And now he is a bit old to benefit from Baby TV I am deliberately going to try and make sure the tv is on for things like Boogie Beebies so we can dance along together, or Mr Maker, so we can have a go at some of the splodgy stuff. There is no end to my iniquity.

I would recommend Baby TV to anyone with a little one, and although I never had that much problem with sleep when little bear was little, I would certainly recommend the gentle music and kaleidascope to those trying to soothe a little one at 2am.
