Hello everybody,
Had a great nights sleep last night. DH slept a lot better too. He's not too bad today. Still very sore in his back area but his tummy area is a lot better. He's going to his GP tomorrow if it doesn't settle down. None the wiser atm though.
Thanks for all your kind wishes.
Had a pretty relaxing day. Went for a walk, did the basics. DGS sleeping tonight and I'll have him the next couple of days.
Haribo Yes I did.
Kaz Hope the party goes well.
RubyFingers crossed the weather fines up and you go for your walk.
N9eav So what's the best toothpaste?
Well I'm off to bed shortly. Just waiting for DGS to drop off. He's chatting to me atm laying on his bed. His mother apparently says naughty words to the cat. I told him I'll talk to her tomorrow and if she still keeps saying them I'll give her a big flogging. He liked that.
Have a lovely Sunday & <hugs> to those not well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hi there
The weather here this morning is fantastic so the littlies have been out on their bikes.
Roast chicken is cooking nicely and bacon sarnies for lunch.
Got loads to do in the garden as there is loads that needs transplanting but not quite sure where they will fit in.
Well off to finish watching GreatBritish Menu then out to the garden after lunch. Fingers crossed the weather stays like this for the day xxAlthough I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

HH, My ds would go for that no problem. He is fish and sea life obsessed. We have spent the last hour making 4 mermaids, King Neptune and a dolphin from an ELC kit. From a month before his 3rd birthday he asked us all to call him Daisy the mermaid. That lasted 6 months - it was a very long 6 months!
Betheebee sadly my ds had no interest whatsoever in his activity arch or any other activity deemed suitable for babies. He only stopped whinging when I bought him a baby walker and he became mobile. He also loves cooking now, but some of his descriptions/requests can be a bit hard to follow. "Can we make those raisin oaty things?" turned out to be a request for flapjacks.
'Im indoors has gone sailing, ds is playing with the mermaids we made (do mermaids have American accents?), and I'm off to finish the ironing.
I need to confess before I go.....ds chose the birthday cake for dh's 50th birthday on Wednesday. We bought it instead of making it and it's Spongebob Squarepants.
Take care all of you.0 -
Hi all
Just having a quick browse while waiting to turn the roast beef to a lower temp, have made cauliflower cheese, just need to do the new pots and some cabbage. Have made coconut bar cakes this morning too.
Trying to get through the never ending pile of washing:rolleyes:
Had an email from school in reply to the one I sent. They seem to have taken offence that I complained and are saying that DS being distressed last week when his one to one wasnt around shows he is becoming too reliant on her and that they plan to wean him off to do work independantly:eek:......and how can he do that exactly?:o they just do not get it. Went in the bath and had a good cry after reading it....am just becoming weary of fighting the system all the time but I know it has to be done.
I see people are debating about babies/kids watching TV, I think it all depends on the child and the situation. DS isn`t too interested most of the time but he does have certain DVDs he watches over and over.
Betheebee I hope your DGD does want to do all those things you are planning as she grows, DS used to love his activity mat as a baby and I planned on doing all those things with him but sadly he is almost 6 and still wont do them now:rolleyes: it just didnt work out that way for me......he likes to do his numbers and clocks and other things you cant take part in or share with him......I hope you get to do them and enjoy her.
MSD hope you hear from Tristan soon, it must be so hard to not know how he is....hugs
RavyLesley I am worried about Dee too:o.....havent had an email from her or seen her on here for a while and am wondering what has happened....does anyone know....hope you are ok Dee if you are reading

Afternoon All
Not a very productive day here. I finally received my redundancy pay yesterday - two weeks late. Will pay that into the bank tomorrow. Was working yesterday, which was a relief. Going to register at the agencies this week hopefully so I can at least get some extra work from somewhere.
I've got two stalls booked for my jewellery late in the summer, so trying to find some events to go to a bit earlier on than that.
Picked up Mr T's magazine - about £5 in coupons in there for anyone interested. Picked up some limes ready to do a flavoured vodka, just need to buy the vodka first:rolleyes: Not tried lime vodka before, so looking forward to the end result.
Breakfast today was a banana, lunch burger in pitta bread and dinner will be oxtail.
Tomato plants are looking a bit sorry for themselves after all the bad weather we've had here over the last couple of days. Hoping they'll recover and give us some nice toms though.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Hi All,
Aussie, I'm glad you managed to catch up on your sleep and I hope dh is feeling a bit better today.
Jayward and grandmasam, it's good to see you posting again.
Just a quickie as I'm heading out shortly. Just to let you know that I heard from D&DD on Thursday. She's had a lot happening and she hopes to be able to get back to the boards soon.
After a wet start it's turned into a lovely afternoon here so when Mr Pink and ds2 return from swimming we're going to take a trip the garden centre and maybe go for a walk as well. I'm making roast beef and all the trimmings for dinner then hope for a quiet evening and an early night for the boys as ds1 has his maths GCSE tomorrow.
Take care all,
Pink0 -
Thanks Pink for letting us know Dee is ok:A
Have just been reading a poem thing I keep on my fridge about having a special needs child and thought I would share it with you all
"Welcome to Holland
I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability -to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it to imagine how it would feel
When you are going to have a baby it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip to Italy You buy the guide books make wonderful plan the coliseum the michaelangelo the gondolas You even learn some handy phrases Its all very exciting
After months of eager anticipation the day finally arrives you pack your bag and off you go Several hours later the plane lands The stewardess comes in and says WELCOME TO HOLLAND
Holland you say what do you mean Holland i signed up for Italy i supposed to be in Italy all my life i've dreamed of Italy
But there has been a change on flight plan they've landed in Holland and there you must stay
The important thing is they haven't taken you to a disgusting place full of famine and disease its just a different place
So you go out buy new guide books You learn a whole new language and you will meet a new group of people you would never have met
Its slower paced than Italy less flashy but after you have been there a while you catch your breath and look around you begin to notice Holland has tulips windmills Holland even has Rembrandts
But everyone is busy coming and going from Italy and they are all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there and for the rest of your life you will say yes that's where i was supposed to go, thats what i had planned
The pain of that loss will never go away because the dream of that loss is a very significant loss
But if you spend your life mourning that fact that you didn't get to Italy you may never be free to enjoy the very special the very lovely things about Holland"
This always cheers me up and gives me great comfort as it reminds me that although my life with DS is different to others and is frustrating at times there are just as many special things to celebrate. It also conveys exactly how it feels to have a child with special needs.
Anyway enough of me bringing a maudlin tone to the Daily:o
off to have a cuddle with DS while he watches Numberjacks0 -
:hello:Hello!
I did read the first few posts this morning, but hadn't time to post then.
Pink-Winged - Thanks for the news of D & DD.
Judith and Grandmasam - Nice to see you back :T
Diva - I hope you have news from, or of, Tristan soon, horrible to be on tenterhooks x
Noahspennilessmummy - Huge ((((HUGS)))) to you. Thanks for the "Welcome to Holland". It explains so well!
mioliere - Thanks so much for saying what a "Vide Greniers" is - we've seen them advertised on our last few hols in France but couldn't go along to find out what it was all about, because they were always either just after we were leaving the area or had happened just before we arrived  I knew it meant "empty barns" and did wonder if it was a sort of communal party held when the harvest was due to be startedI now have an irresistible (sp?) mental picture of a French farmer rummaging in long-forgotten corners of his outbuildings, emerging triumphantly with some ancient piece of farm machinery
scuzz - Glad your redundancy money finally turned up. Good luck with your new ventures!
Hester - Glad to hear your DH has more work at the school, that's great!
JackieO - Many congrats on your Uni results :T:beer: though so sorry it was tempered by your friend's sad news.
Penny_Pincher - Thinking of you x
Best wishes to everyone, and sorry if I haven't mentioned you by name - I'm not intentionally ignoring you, honest
Not a lot of OS going on here today, except that I'm planning to make pasta sauce from scratch later on - better than nothing I suppose
