    Morning all
Plans for today include cooking roast lamb new pots cabbage & carrots, I shall also make a meatloaf for one day next week & put steak & kidney in the slow cooker. Yesterdays banana loaf turned out great & is now cut & in boxes ready to go to work tomorrow, neither hubby or I really eat cake, but I still get the urge to make some, probably a remnant from when the kids were home & all had hollow legs.

When my kids were little the only tv for them was playschool, with Jemima, teddy & the shaped windows, I couldn't have managed without it, that was when I prepared tea, without it we'd never have got fed. When DGK were younger & I needed a break, I used to park them in front of the fish tank, bit like a silent tv, lol. Nowadays it's Ben10 for DGS.

Sorry to hear you are in pain Katie, I'm always having problems with my teeth, not through sugary drinks, but because I didn't grow up in a house where things like toothbrushes were seen as a necessity, my kids on the other hand had teeth cleaning & hand washing drummed into them.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

N9eav, my destist told me that all toothpastes were much the same, I would be interested to know which one your friend suggests.

The bike bits that OH picked up at the boot sale for £10 last week finished on Ebay last night, ( I had thought it was tonight ) and ended up selling for £215 :T:T, so an excellent proffit :D, very pleased with him.

We were going out walking today, little dog needs a good run, but we will have to see what the weather does, its been raining all morning, but looks like it might brighten up a bit, fingers crossed, I could do with a good walk too. DD is off with her dad for the day.

I have a chicken in the fridge, and also some chicken thighs, thingk I might cook the thighs today, and have with salad and new pots, a roast always seems to go down better with my two when they have been at work and school, so will do that tomorrow.

OH is making us a bacon sandwich :D, and we will then decide what to do with the day.

Diva, Be carefull with your cabages, you will have to check them 2 or 3 times a day for caterpiller eggs, and scrape them off, I fought a brave battle against them last year, and am not 100% sure I won, once hatched they eat through the leaves very quickly, I have not planted any this year, have concentrated on the things I know will work for me.

Aussie, hope DH is recovering xx

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning all,

Everytime I post on here I say it's been ages since I last posted, and that's the case again  I am trying to make a more regular thing out of it though...

Today looks quite a nice day over here in West Yorkshire - well by that I mean it's not raining, so it's a good start.

I need to re-pot the veg in my greenhouse today, as they're all outgrowing their pots rapidly. It's been raining on and off for the last couple of days so I haven't got round to it.

Dinner will be a pork roast that was half price from the supermarket. I must go and find out how to do roasties. I've never made them and always do mash instead :o.

Hope everyone has a good day today x

    Morning all!!

(((Hugs))) to all who need them and those who just feel like they want one!! Sorry if I don't mention everyone by name but I'm still thinking of you!!

DGD's first birthday party this afternoon so helping with food. Her parents seem to have invited everyone who came to her Christening so should be busy!! Both sides have large families and a big circle of friends so it's hard to know who to leave out. As DS1 & DDIL grew up together it's lovely as we all knew each other before their wedding.

Upsy Daisy keeps throwing herself off the top of the cake so she needs a good talking to!! ;)

    Catch up with you later!

    Good Morning.

I'm late today as I couldn't sleep last night and ended up awake until 3am  not like me at all so hope it was a one off.

Plans for today include ironing, some sewing repairs on various clothes & hoepfully some cross stitch later on. I'm roasting a chicken this morning to make into a chicken pasta salad & garlic bread for tea and then I'll strip the rest of the meat off for soup tomorrow & a pie for the freezer :T The dog & cats don't do so well out of a chicken these days :rotfl: thanks to this site.

The weather is windy which would be great for clothes drying but showers are forecast all day & I really don't want to be rushing in and out to it!

Aussie Hope your DH has some answers from the hospital now & that you're managing to sleep a bit (((((hugs)))))

Diva Can you contact your other mutual friend with Tris to see how he is?

Penny Pincher Hope you are feeling a bit brighter today

((((((((hugs))))))))) to anyone else who needs them including Ravylesley. Hangovers are not nice even if self inflicted ;) Hope its settling now for you.

Beautiful day in the land of Geordies too - think I'll head over to Gibside for a walk and then a cup of tea!

My 'spring fever' (which has debilitated me every year for a long time) turns out to be common and garden hay fever! Rape flowers specifically. I stayed with friends this week whilst away for work and coughed and coughed and snotted so much that it hurt. They gave me an antihistamine and, hey presto, nose dried up, cough almost ceased and normal life resumed. Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier.

Heavy expenditure over the last couple of weeks now means belt tightening (tough when you're a fattie like me!) so it's down to the bottom shelf of the freezer to dig out long lost/forgotten food. Couple with going on holiday on Friday (up to the Argyll Peninsula) for 2 weeks it's all come together, however things aren't so tough that we can't enjoy ourselves.

Hope that all are getting or giving comfort.

    Morning all :hello:

Have been gardening this morning and have potted up some chilli plants, sown more calabrese and weeded the borders. The recent heat and night time rain have brought lots of carrot and turnip seedlings to the surface. :TAm attempting to cobble together an obelisk from branches OH cut down a few weeks ago. At the moment it looks like something you WOULD see on a childrens' TV programme. :D
The house is fairly tidy but I need to sort the laundry in our room once OH surfaces.
We're taking the ferry to one of the islands for a walk later so tea is still being played by ear.

Hope the party goes well Kaz
Did you give OH that kiss Aussie? :D
Nice to see you Yorkshirechick and Grandmasam.
happy Birthday to Cheapskate if you're around.
