I'm confused.
Apart from MrsE it seems that everyone thinks it is perfectly acceptable to turn right across three lanes of oncoming traffic and that if the oncoming traffic then hits the dozy fool that does this, it is the fault of the oncoming traffic? The fact that 2 others did it first makes it OK?
Thank you:beer:
I honestly can't believe the response here.
I wonder if they would feel the same if someone turned right across their path:rolleyes:0 -
until some silly woman driving the opposite direction decided she didn't need to give way to turn right across on coming traffic & just turned (this afternoon in Crawley). Her back quarter & my daughters front left collided, my DD did stamp on the breaks as hard as possible, but the woman did just pull across as if she wasn't there.
Thats pretty much all you need to do, might help if there was a give way line she crossed to get to your daughter.
The only thing against her would be driving experience, a more experienced person may have judged her speed into what she was going to do.
Next years non fault insurance quote is going to be pretty expensive, even with the 1yr NCB.
Update us with how she gets on with this0 -
I think in fairness Mrs E did say at some point that she thought her DD had some liability by not responding to what was happening. Indeed, if the person behind managed to stop, maybe they were reading the road better.
The person behind (her BF) stopped behind my DD because they weren't going fast & he had left a sensible gap. He said the woman just flashed across & he was praying that she was going fast enough to slip on past as my DD was breaking. But unfortunatly they collided.
Mrs E, possibly your biggest downfall on here is to mention whiplash so perhaps that's best left with you!
I've been a MSEer quite some time & I know how kind most people are on here. I knew one of the first things people would ask, is has she seen a doctor & is she ok? Besides I hate posts where you have to drag info out, so I tried to tell all in the op. The hospital said it was whiplash (surprised me, I thought it was something people got when they were hit from behind, but as I nor my family have ever made a compo claim I know nothing about whiplash or insurance claims for medical things).
I've responded a couple of times about your main query - insurance so hope you have managed to read those posts as you have not indicated thus. Sorry if you have, I am finding this thread quite difficult to follow as posts keep disappearing!
Be thankful your DD is OK, by the sound of the KA and its seats it may not have withstood a greater impact.
Abusive posts re drugs, probably stone/drunk, workshy, your sort, liar, etc have been removed by abuse.
I'm grateful my DD is OK, but The fault for this lies squarely with the lady who turned right into on comming traffic.
My DD is very sore & she is car-less because someone couldn't be bothered to look.
My DD may also face an insurance increase because of the other ladys carelessness.
The other lady was going so fast, she actually went quite some way down the road before she stopped, she sat in the car staring straight ahead totally in shock at what happened, possible because she didn't even see on coming traffic.
She hasn't bothered to inform her insurance she was in a crash either (as of this evening) , but I suspose the fact that she didn't want her hubby to know she'd crashed his company car may have something to do with that.

I think someone said earlier that she might not be allowed to drive the car - all the years OH had one I was insured on it too. However, you don't know these circumstances and I hope she was insured. Sounds like it's now up to your insurer. Did you get a hire car?0 -

Whether or not the other lady was insured is of no consequence to the OP. As a company car, it is likely to have had some insurance cover, which will deal with the OP's daughter's claim (assuming the woman just admits liability).0 -
Although losts of people here were calling you a troll I think the above post is written very well and raises good points. If indeed these posts were removed I'm intruiged why. Sounds like they were quite important to the topic.Genie

She doesn't want to put it in the insurers garage (they would have supplied courtsey car on the spot), as its only 2 months old she wants to take it to the main dealers.
She had to get two quotes today & the insurers will tell her which garage they find acceptable & she can take it in & they will give her a courtsey car.
So she's waiting to hear.
She can drive it, but not at night, as the headlight may not be in alinement.
Its about £750 to repair, which I think is pretty reasonable, I thought there might be more damage with the seats poping forward.0 -
MrsE ...........
What can I say! This has turned into a most controversial thread!!! It has nearly out done your 4x4 one!
What is really boring........... is the really really really long posts that don't really say anything but go on and on. Earlier, it was mentioned about the posting on the insurance forum? Think that may be an idea, as on this thread they think that you and daughter are out for the whip lash malarkey......... etc... Naturally, if you get a HUGE payout, you will remember your friends ..:D:D I'll PM my bank details to you straight away.

MrsE, if your DD was injured to the extent you say, why wasn't an ambulance deployed to the accident? If it's an injury RTA, the police have to be involved - did they attend? As your DD is now sore (i.e. injured), have you informed the police?
Surely if it was that bad the car wouldn't be driveable, but you say it still is?
If your insistent on going down the compensation road, take a deep breath before you open the next insurance renewal - they will get their money back somehow!0
