I'll be interested to see if the Mod that deleted them comes forward or hides away in the darkness. Pretty sure I know which of the 2 are more likely.

I am dismayed & disgusted at the way this thread has turned out.

I posted on here asking what impact this might have on her insurance renewal.

I have been called a liar, a compo culture - your sort, scam artist, alligations made that my daughter was probably on drugs, girl racer, workshy, etc ect.

Exactly what part of someone decided to turn right off a major road, into a smaller road & neglected to way way are some of you no understanding.

Ny DD is no young girl racer, she is a 22 (almost) year old young woman with a responsible job in the NHS.

She was doing about 25 mph when an idiot pulled in front of her without checking to see if the way was clear.

Fords think the car damage is more extensive, than it appears on face value. However I think the fact that the other lady was driving a gig BMW v a tiny Ka, will have a lot of bearing on this.

To all of you being so nasty, have you driven into someones car because you didn't bother to check the road was clear, is that why you are so bitter?
Or is it that a young woman, new driver has a two month old car:rolleyes:

How was your daughter when she got up today MrsE? Is she going to her GP to get a more suitable medication, not just a NSAID?

I found the stiffness was at its worst on a morning when my car was rear ended.

She was going to try & make an appointment for this evening, I think she was worried about taking the two tablets together & wanted the doctor to say it was ok

You might have been better asking on the insurance board ;) Still worth a try?

As my DD was approaching the junction (well left turn, do you need a X for a junction), two cars crossed safely in front on her, with plently of room, I guess this lady just followed them, assuming it was ok.

This is now slightly different. It's not ONE driver having a mad moment - which your DD can't account for.

Your DD has now seen THREE cars trying to make the same turn - and hasn't slowed down. If one of the previous two cars had found it's way blocked - and had to stop - presumably DD would have hit them instead - instead of slowing down...

    I'm confused.

Apart from MrsE it seems that everyone thinks it is perfectly acceptable to turn right across three lanes of oncoming traffic and that if the oncoming traffic then hits the dozy fool that does this, it is the fault of the oncoming traffic? The fact that 2 others did it first makes it OK?
    Not even wrong

I don't think thats it at all. I think its more because you are refusing to admit your daughter was slightly liable. If her boyfriend could see the car's turning and could see what was about to happen your daughter should be able to aswell. If she's only been driving a short while I don't understand why you can't see that perhaps she was partly to blame.

I don't think anyones saying she is 100% liable. You're right, the car shouldln't have crossed her path if there wasn't enough room. I think people are just having a go because you seem defiant that your daughter wasn't at all to blame. But from what you have written (and also what was written in the mysterious deleted posts) it sounds like it could have been avoided if she had been more experienced.

I'd be interested to see the post where somoene said your daughter was 'Probably on drugs'. If you have a look back I think you'll see what was said was:
    i) DD was displaying a misleading signal; or
ii) DD was travelling at an excess speed ( you haven't actually denied that was the case..); or
iii) DD was driving under the influence of drink or drugs (was a sample of her blood taken at hospital?); or
iv) DD actually collided with a stationary vehicle..

There are four counter-arguments that could defeat DD's claim....
Asbo kid was just pointing out scenario's where your daughter could have been more at fault than first portrayed. Not once did he say 'Your daughters probably on drugs'.

Normally in your posts you seem level headed, open minded and are open to other possibillities. In this thread however you come across as narrow minded and too stubborn to accept that what happened may not have been as clear cut as your daughter is saying.

Fair enough she's your daughter so you're going to naturally. But maybe listen to the good advice on here from people with previous experience in this issue.

E2A: Still no word from the mod that deleted the posts? Anyone suprised?

I think the point people are trying to make is that when approaching that type of junction, and already witnessing 2 cars cross your path, it is advisable to slow down quite a bit and be prepared for the fact that other cars may do the same.

My late Dad was a test driver and a member of the AIM, he always taught me to pay full attention to the road, slow down at junctions regardless of who has right of way, and above all else look much further up the road than the end of the bonnet. Plan for what could happen up ahead and try and avoid it before it does.

It served me well, 17 years driving without an accident.

I think the posts making that accusation are among those deleted, along with a handful of asbokids which were adding nothing useful to the discussion and read (to me at least) as attacks on the OP's character after a similar accident happened to themselves and the OP stated they thought it was entirely ak's fault.

Liability for the accident will be decided by the insurance co's, and as for OP being accused of skirting issues - she wasnt in the car, she didnt witness the accident and can only go off the word of her DD and DD's bf who may not have been present when these things were asked!
