A spray of perfume/drop of essential on onto the lightbulb of a lamp just before you switch it on, or put into a little dish of water which is placed on the radiator.
Or I just like to have my windows open0 -
I just want a fresh clean smell without candles or plug ins or what have you. I like the windows open. I use a lavender polish for my furniture and it smells lovely after it has been done.0

Hmmm this is a tough one. Thanks for the ideas. I'm sure I have some oils around but definitely not an oil burner. I chucked that out as I never used it. Wished I hadn't now. I am now left with empty plugins for the time being. I have done two loads of washing and the downstairs smells like comfort!0

I love the smell of comfort, I'e bought Yankee plug ins in the past that make your house smell like that lol!
I use neutradol solid air fresheners now, they're about £1.10 each but they last for at least 6-8 weeks. They don't really smell of anything tbh, they just get rid of any smells in the air so that your home smells fresh and clean! I've been using them for ages now and I think they're fab.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
I use a few drops of essential oil in water in my steam iron and ironing spray. A few sprays of the latter both fragrances (OK, masks the cooking smells!) and humidifies the place.
As an experiment when I first got the oil, I put a couple of drops on the car mats. I was amazed how effective it was and how long it lasted, especially in a car. Perhaps the same around the house, maybe on some hidden bits of scrap cloth or kitchen paper, though? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi, this is my first post! Have you seen those scented simmering granules? They're easy to make because they're just scented and coloured salt.
Just get some course sea salt, and some essential or fragrance oil. You can also add some food colouring. Stick it all in a jar, pop the lid on and give it a good shake to mix, or use a stainless steel spoon. Leave in the jar for a few days so the salt can soak up the oil, then pour into a pretty dish. You can also use them in an oil burner with a tealight.0 -
Welcome Gigervamp to MSE. It's a wonderful site with loads of helpful information. I have some course sea salt and lavender oil so perhaps that will do. I will give it a bash tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. Cheers.0
